You know what this sounds like? I just noticed a kind of Toto meets Mike + The Mechanics vibe about it and I mean that as a huge compliment to Strangeways- smooth grooves with real soul and real fire and passion. I think music is getting better again much better. It had to happen sometime that the music world would wake up and it is it really pretty much has, but the door can be opened up even more on a brighter future for music. I think that we'll just keep on fighting for what we love no matter what injustices stand in our way. I love Strangeways and I say music is the ultimate healer of severe wounds on your heart and your soul. Rock it on!

I am Taiwanese, and I went to California for my honeymoon last year. It happened to be night when I took the flight at LAX on the last day of the trip. I thought of this song in my mind. I played it the moment the plane took off, and I looked at the skyline of LA. Say good night to her and say goodbye to her.
Amazing song. When you think about it enough you can tell this band is Scottish- there is that Glass Tiger Celtic ring in the guitars and melodies and a funk bass line and not to mention Terry Brock's absolutely breathtaking vocals! Great band! Should have been huge and it's a really disgusting thing when you think that Richard Marx, Winger, George Michael, all that rubbish made it and this didn't. I think Strangeways are one of rock's great unsolved mysteries as to why they weren't more successful. Shy is the same thing. And many others... This is such a beautiful song from Terry Brock's pen. I love it very much.
