These are a great prduct. The production model has a slightly different mount to the blind header rail, and are quieter, but other than that very similar. I love the included solar panel, and that it has 2 light sensors, one on the solar panel for external light and one on the motor (where the LED is) for internal light level measuring. Installation really was a breeze. 5 minutes and done. Unfortunately the lack of Homekit and API Support and lacking Home Assistant support really is a bit of a downer. That said, I installed two of them, and the corresponding remote button. The blinds hardly got used before and I do definitely use them more having that remote ability and the scheduling in Switchbot app. These are a fantastic, and economical, device. Once the API is sorted out and Homekit support comes, these will be a no brainer for people with wands, especially given the wand can still be used without upsetting the calibration. My blinds are the really old style like the ones in this video and the new rail mount is much better than the one on the preview model. It can actually mount fully without needing it to only use part of the sticky pad. The switch bot app is brilliant though. One of the best apps I have seen, and you can really get good control of the devices.
@@SteveDOES thank you so much for responding! Very cool of you. I was under the impression I needed the hub to control it through the alexa. I'll definitely try these out! thanks steve
@@NarutoShippuden2013 Sorry, i might have misunderstood the question. You don't need the Amazon Echo with a smart home hub built in, any echo will do. However, you do need the SwitchBot hub to get it connected with Alexa. Sorry for any confusion.
@@SteveDOES so, do you absolutely need the hub? or will the internal hub in the large amazon echo, that has a built in smart hub, take the place of the switchbot hub
Excellent review as always, Steve. Thanks as always!
Amazing hey. How awesome are they. So cool. Thanks for all the info, you’ve given me more than I’ve seen elsewhere. They can do so much.

I've looked everywhere and don't know where these can be purchased! When going to the Kickstarter site...it doesn't say where we can purchase them.
Where do you buy them don’t see them anywhere except to add the app?
Awesome, wonder if they’re compatible with those big wide blinds? 🤔
As long as they have a rod to turn, it should work.
Where can I get one please couldn't find it at Amazon
What will they think up next
Sunsa blinds does the same thing, and I think it looks much nicer. But you can’t manually rotate that one.
You can set-up the double-tap feature that allows you to manually open and close the blinds via a double-tap on the Sunsa Wand
I was looking at those. They're pretty pricy but they do look good.
@@SteveDOES Lets get you some to review :) What is the best way to reach you?
Do they make noise when they are opening and closing?
Yes. In December they will have a software update that will include a silent mode to make it quieter.
Is there any automation product for blinds with strings?
Not that i'm aware of, but that's what i need too. All my blinds open with 2 strings.
@@SteveDOES hopefully they'll realize there's a demand for that and come out with something.
you can convert your cord tilt mechaism to a wand tilt mechaism, it is a little more work :)
@@adamzilberbaum5517 I'm nowhere near that handy. 🙂
you mention that you can control these through alexa- did you need to purchase a hub first in order to control them? I have a 4th generation echo
Any Alexa device will work.

@@SteveDOESwould you say the hub mini would be good to connect 5-7 blinds? Or the hub 2 is a necessity at this point?
