I've watched this audition a hundred times, and it still makes my eyes leak.
I have never In my life as a musician myself heard a voice like this 12 year old, I've seen and heard a lot of young artist sing lately and I believe this Young talented artist has had a lot to do with them Getting the courage to think they could possibly do the same thing, so as a long time music lover and a person who enjoys the unique and the different, and I found one in this young prodigy, her original Compositions are all different, that an artist that will some day be considered as another Mozart, Her music will be around long after the pop scene has disappeared, she is an AGT legend who has written Masterpiece after a masterpiece in just 6 years, Grace Vanderwaal is the artist that changed music forever! Thank you for this wonderful reaction to the best there is in music today!!!!
This girl is one of the most original artists I've come across in years. What she's accomplished after winning that season is astounding. Please catch up on her music especially the produced versions of her songs, although her live performances are also incredible. Thanks again. I actually saw your Moonlight reaction first and that one was also well appreciated. She has to be one of the most underrated singer/songwriters in history. But her time is coming. Her lyrics are off the charts and I'm saying this as a musician myself. Please, please, continue reacting to her and btw there's so much more to her than just her music. Thanks again, great reaction.

Your one of the originals still with us. While AJ fans caused the rivalry resulting in the many spats unlike the AJ fans Grace's followers understand while there were writers like Melanie/Madonna the singers like Aretha/Whitney were just as famous if not more. Both will be famous soon and I think the reason most Grace fans don't follow AJ is because as Grace continues to make new songs AJ will continue to sing another version of a great song. You appreciate both

@@McDevittMike yes, exactly. Thank God it came to a head at Michal's reaction and the AJ people they can't control have stopped coming to Grace's videos. No not the Beatles and the Stones, they both played Rock it's more like something also from our time, Barbra or Joni.
@@Calers-gu1ib I guess i wasn't paying enough attention (I thought I was) and have no idea how this 'rivalry' started and am mortified that Angels could have started it. Angelina would not have approved of that. There is no need of any kind of rivalry. They aren't' the same kind of artists Grace is an amazing songwriter and prolific with a unique and beautiful voice. Angelina is a virtuoso singer, who sometimes writes some songs, usually with other musicians. Grace is a brilliant singer-songwriter with an amazing personality who will fit right in with the pop world. Angelina will soar in the jazz and 'song stylist' category where she will reign supreme. They aren't chasing the same thing, there should be no rivalry between them. 😎
Simon said, hearing she was doing an original, he was afraid she was going to sing something boring. It probably took him a moment to realize how amazingly good the song was.

I was hoping this was her new song she released last week. This will do though.
Grace has done a lot in the past 6 years, since this audition went viral. She has starred in two movies. She has released an album, two EPs, and a number of singles including just released "Lion's Den". She has been on four tours headlining two and opening for Imagine Dragons and Florence and the Machine in the other two. The pandemic has reduced her production for the past couple of years to live streams. But the music that she has produced for those live streams has been some of the best music produced by anyone in years.
The downside is that in these past few years her music has tended towards darker moods, giving the impression that her life has not been a rose garden. Six years ago her music was more upbeat. But it would seem that fame and the spotlight have taken their toll on this young genius of a songwriter.
It is my fervent hope that her changed circumstances (She has moved out and is now living on her own) will gradually repair any damage done to her psyche and maybe she will begin to create happier music.
Thank you for the info, I was curious why her more recent creations gave me a negative feeling and I haven't even seen or heard any of it yet, just a preview of images that I was a bit shocked by. I hope she can bring some more light into her work in the near future.
@@reactiontalk for people who don't follow Grace they only see the surface. From the age of 12 Grace has seen nasty comments about her about ever 5 comment. As she got to 14/15 every second comment on Tiktok and IG was nasty. I think with her own personal problems and young people attacking her social media Grace is getting things off her chest about that era and she will writing less about herself soon and more about what's important to her. I think if she was from an earlier period in time she would have rivalled the impact Woody Guthrie had.

That is what I want to see, genuine appreciation for this jewel of a singer....I have a reaction channel dedicated to her, it's all in the name, lol....But I would love to feature this as a video on my channel. I don't want to disappoint you in your belief about this show and confirm to you there are no tricks going on with this show other than their videos. Apparently about the time this performance was going on there has been a few tricks played on Simon over in England at his BGT show which I'm not going to get into but it concerns Simon hoping sad stories come to the show. Grace didn't have one.
The other one is that the English audience have been noticing weird things going on in the videos that we end up seeing months after the performance. The show is taped in March and put on TV in June.
Guitar Straps are moved between quick shots and other anomalies making people question what they are watching. People in Grace's audience are also in Laura's and Brian's videos. Simon showing a disappointed look that may not have actually happened or the dead silence in Brian Crum's video after his song to show the audience in shock may not have happened either. Video Editors taking liberties at Simon's request?
These things are being tossed at Simon accusing him of manipulate or editing the video audience to like or dislike a performer. According to Grace fan who was at the performance the audience were waving their arms up and down chanting "Golden Buzzer, Golden Buzzer" as Howie turned around looking at them, the only indication of that in the video is Howie looking around. According to Grace her sister ran into her so hard they almost tumbled to the floor.
Just a few things to keep in mind when watching AGT and BGT shows

Reminds me of people using the same reaction face in multiple thumbnails trying to sell it as "genuine" when it is so far from authentic. Great comment.
@@reactiontalk another point to add about Simon's facial expression, if it really did happen at that moment, it could have been his reaction to the people yelling out as she was singing at that point. Simon said that one of the things he liked about Grace was there were no gimmicks. In the first year of comments on her YT video we use to say Simon's sourish face was because he was adding up in his head how much money Grace was going to make for him.
