As a kid in the 1970's Lou Ferrigno inspired me to strength train and body build. I was fortunate enough to meet him at The Egg in Albany, N.Y. in 1980. I carry that inspiration and hunger for weight lifting to this day. Thanks Lou.

That part of ‘Pumping Iron’ that was playing on the screen, Lou was doing shoulder presses with about 230lbs and he cleaned it up to do it! Beast mode in the hay day of bodybuilding. Not all the sophisticated equipment you see in gyms now. Just iron. Love it!
Loved this video....Lou having fun with his kid and friend...nothing wrong with that! As a Deaf guy, I have known that Lou Ferrigno had 70 to 80% hearing loss-I admire him for his tenacity and perseverance. I used to lift weights around the time Pumping Iron, the movie came out...as a 56 yr old, I recently got back into bodybuilding as a means of getting back into shape. Lou should be proud of his legacy and his family.

I have met many of the classic bodybuilders and can tell you that Lou is a great guy when you talk to him, very polite and genuine. Arnold is extremely self absorbed and Dorian is a stand-offish prick.
About 10 years ago I was attending the Arnold Classic and noticed Lou at his booth. It was early and nobody was at the booth but us and his memorabilia on the counter. I walked up and told him how he was a hero of mine from childhood and continued to be a positive influence. He dead fished my hand shake and looked at me like who cares as I talked and said nothing. People told me he was like that and I didn't trust that until this happened. I've seen him in years since and his poor reputation must have caught up because nobody cares to see him either. He holds signs up saying " I dont bite" and hes right a cardboard lou is what you get.
