This is such a surreal experience, planning your Afterlife and having to pay for it before you die. It calls into question people who die without an "Afterlife 2.0".
And I wonder if there is a big divide between those who do have one and those who don't. It feels like it would become a very Classist thing. And everyone in Cyberland is always either rich as heck or poor af

@@AlternateAurora If the personality is maintained after death of the body, even if housed in a computer, then that would prove that the soul was within the personality. If the personality is destroyed, then that person faces Absolute Death.
So... about how long before the serves go down, you think? Or they need to delete past clients and slots to make space for new ones? On a less grim note, I wonder if live relatives can jack in and visit?
Probably, tbh it probably doesn’t matter bc their are likely other providers who can “hold” the souls until the servers reboot or they can switch clients based on space.
I love anything cyberpunk especially when it's a good role play like this! Cyberpunk and steampunk interests me so much. Do you think you can do a steampunk role play next? That would be awesome.
Thanks! Cyberpunk is very cool to me and I tend to come back to the aesthetic of it. Steampunk never particularly interested me in the same way, so I don't think I'd be able to do it much justice. But maybe one day :)
The background music is beautiful. What is it? It does sound like 'death music'. Something you'd hear in the quiet moments between heartbeats, with each pause stretching further and further into eternity. It also makes me think of the ocean. Sinking further into a dark, endless abyss of mystery while the 'light' of your past existence fades.

A couple of robots for maintenance and interaction, a job you don't need to physically show up for, and an out of the way property with backup power in an economically stable location. Sounds like a fun way to be, so long as you can circumvent any laws that pop up restricting dead people's draw on physical resources. Every Kardashev scale machine empire has to start somewhere, right?
