After her husband’s death, Mrs. Fazilet and her two daughters maintain a modest life in Istanbul while Fazilet continues to dream of becoming rich. Determined to settle her anger and misery, she uses her daughters on the path to money and fame. Believing that she will be famous one day, Fazilet drags her youngest daughter Ece from place to place. On that journey, they encounter the wealthy and well-respected Egemen family, residing in one of Istanbul’s waterside mansions. Hatss off to the actor playing yagiz , no matter how many times I comment this it still not enough, from the very first episode to till last he was worth the time spent watching this drama
Yagiz scene was powerful look how he went and listened to Hazim and even Kerime the way he said what needed to be said without throwing a tantrum or running to the bar and getting drunk. Yagiz is a man that any father or mother would be proud to call a son. Am so proud of the way he handled himself with such class that is why Hazan keeping the secret from him was stupid.
Then there would be no storyline!

Sinan's last comment about Hazan - 'she was mine but you wanted her' - perfectly sums up his mentality about her, and about relationships in general. Yagiz was quick to point out that he couldn't even say he was in love with Hazan, he just said she belonged to him like a property. This was the reason he was a playboy, and treated Nil the way he did, and could only think of revenge when Hazan got close to Yagiz. If the tables were turned and Yagiz had been with Hazan first, and then he found that she was happier with someone else (his brother or not), I'm pretty sure he would be sad but would only be giving them his blessings.

@@star_etdu24 I want to believe so. But people like that are usually unfortunate as we can see. He trying to be right the pick on him calling him "golden boy". It's really no fault of his he was raised that way. His one mistake he fell in love. What got to me is Sinan referring to Hazan as an object.
It was hugely satisfying to hear Yagiz tell it like it is to Hazim - 'I wasn't allowed to make a single mistake.. I had to be perfect because I wasn't an Egemen.. I had to be worth the money spent on me!' This was of course the crux of the problem which led to situations becoming what they are. Even if it wasn't done consciously, this is how Hazim treated his real children vs Yagiz, which got highlighted during the Hazan/Sinan episode. Hazim couldn't even deny it to Yagiz's face.
I can't deny that hazim loved yağiz but he was so unfair to him. For Yağiz to finaly know why is another heart breaking truth.

As he said at his mother's grave, all his life he has been questioning why he was literally given the treatment of a stepchild. Now he has his answers, and when one knows the answers even if they are painful, the dilemma goes away. I hope the truth will set him free.

I love the firm, unbending attitude Yagiz took towards Kerime. Turkish shows often depict that when one suddenly meets their birth parents they feel attachment, affection etc. In this case Yagiz was straight up like 'I don't care who you are, you're sick' and he called the police on her immediately - which everyone else was hesitating to do from months. Also he got the full story of Cemal Yildiz from Hazim before judging - contrast this with how Sinan started shouting 'murderer' to his father without even hearing what happened. Sinan, sitting on the stairs outside, should now realise 'this is how it's done'.

Sinan is gonna learn that it’s too little too late now even if he tries to recompense any of his actions, which he won’t! That whole conversation with Yagiz at his mothers graveside was such a slap in Sinans face in my opinion, Yagiz just walked away…but Sinan was left begging & pleading coz he knows he effed up BIG time. No matter how many times he says “you’re not my brother, you’re not an Egeman” he knows in his heart that despite all that…Yagiz (I’m gonna call him that coz that’s his name!) is still more of a wonderful human & a respected person than he will ever be.
Sinans’ major grouse was that “MY BROTHER stole my THING” yes he admitted to treating & thinking of Hazan as property…Yagiz threw that in his face & I was so happy for that!! He doesn’t deserve anyone’s regard at all. 🙄 and after that he’s the gall to chase down & “confront” Hazan 😂

@@tehanisaighal4375 Frankly, I don't think Sinan was even entitled to a response from Yagiz when he AGAIN started questioning him about Hazan after all the terrible things he did. (Basically crying 'you took away my doll!') If I was Yagiz I would have just spit in his face and walked away. But then Yagiz is not any of us. As Hazan so aptly told him, it doesn't matter if the name is Yagiz or Mehmet, what matters is who he fundamentally is as a person - i.e. pure gold through and through - and that doesn't change with the label.

I really enjoyed watching this series the actors did an fantastic job on acting it’s one of the best series I’ve ever watched .
This is one of the most captivating Turkish series I've ever watched. Thumbs up to Yagiz, his acting through the series makes one understand that, it never pays to judge or jump into conclusion without knowing the exact reality of the happenings in life. Nice one Yagiz👍

Bravo Sinan. I don’t think he’s feeling remorse for what he did. He should’ve asked his dad how did Yagiz became part of the family after the DNA test. And maybe he could’ve think a million times before doing what he did. Like I can remember that Mr Hazim told him not to do what he was thinking about doing. That,that won’t only bring shame to Yagiz alone but his entire family. But he didn’t listen. I’m actually rewatching the episodes & I’m at episode 111 ironically where Sinan has told Kerime he’s her son etcetc & she’s just told him the whole “truth” about what happened (according to her of course!) & Sinans (rather over the top) reaction considering he isn’t even really her son made me wonder even more (rather disgustedly) at what kind of a hate-filled person he is for putting Yagiz through everything he did after he had reacted the way he did when he found out everything & it wasn’t even about him! 🤷🏻♀️
Really the contrasts in reaction between Sinan & Yagiz are astounding & I think Sinan was banking of Yagiz to also react violently like he did…shows how much he (doesn’t know) Yagiz (I refuse to acknowledge Sinan as Yagizs’ sibling anymore…even if Yagiz always May!)

Having spent 50 episodes criticising Hazan for keeping the secret from Yagiz, I still hope that he will realise some day that her deception had no selfish motive and was entirely due to her misguided perception of protecting him from pain. He might be able to forgive her in that light.
The way he left her was strange.. I thought he would be angry and unforgiving of her, but he wasn't angry, just sad and thoughtful. He put the coat on her so tenderly. I wonder if it was less of a wish to punish her by leaving her, and more of a general depression with life which made him want to leave everything behind.
Hmm. If it was me i would have collapsed and spend the next two three days in ICU. It is too much to process in one night.

Yagiz Mehmet whatever…that man is the real deal, I wrote once before that he’s indestructible unlike what Sinan thought. Whatever the reasons may have been, the fact that he was treated the way he was & was alone most of the time, has made him very strong mentally I think & able to pick up the pieces & move forward no matter what. Yes he’s human & therefore takes some time to figure things, but once he’s decided on something…nothing & no one can stop him. He decided somewhere that he’s going to live for himself & Hazan right, despite all the odds, he never once backed down…there may have been an ebb & flow in the feelings & expressions of those feelings but he’s always openly accepted that he’s in love with Hazan & that’s just the way it is!
I think even this attitude of his probably threw Sinan off a bit coz he expected his Abi to sacrifice for him all the time of course, but he got punched in the gut coz once Yagizs’ feelings were reciprocated by Hazan…there was just no scope for Sinan at all.

His stay in the US alone was a blessing in disguise, in that it prepared him for the disaster of this night. He knows how not to lose himself completely even if he's broken with no one to depend on.

Yagiz had feelings for Hazan deep inside his heart never revealed to anyone...We can't control our feelings it is not a wrong thing to love someone but you can control your actions and that's exactly what Yagiz did he didn't even touch Hazan nor made her realise his feelings until she also develops feelings for him and broke up with Sinan..Sinan couldn't be a man Hazan wanted but Yagiz was able to and that had hurt his ego and he took his revenge but in the end lost himself, his innocence...
I'm still confused about Cemal Yildiz. Earlier we heard from Kerime that he was a quiet man, given to reading books, and we speculated whether Yagiz took after him. Now from Hazim's story it seems he was a criminal, part of some gang, and he had been about to kill Hazim but Hazim killed him in self-defence. The two versions seem contradictory. Also this means Yagiz is the birth child of two criminals.. and yet he turned out like this! With no help from his adopted family either.
Yagiz always felt alone and he had to do it alone. Yagiz had that family , but yagiz had to learn to be alone and take care of himself. So with yagiz honesty intelligence and his brilliant beliefs yagiz became the man he is today because of Yagiz himself.

I wish that dialogue could have been completed. Sinan needed to hear more. On the other hand, what Hazan told him at the end was perfect, and one could see from his face that it hit home.

He and Selin are similar in that way - they can commit the worst crimes but still feel entitled to everyone's love and sympathy, and can't imagine being punished just because they carry the Egemen name.

As someone who has friends who were stepchildren as well as friends who adopted children themselves, I feel like I must say this. Yagiz's plight here should not be extrapolated to think that adopted children can generally expect to be treated this way (and being adopted is not a justification for bad parenting). Adoptive parents can also be extremely loving, caring and responsible, depending on the kind of human beings they are. Conversely, real (birth) parents can also be anything from negligent to abusive. Even in this story, we see that Hazim was ultimately a worse parent to Selin and Sinan than to Yagiz - if outcomes determine the quality of parenting.

My sister & I lost our mom when we were little (I was 2yrs my sis months old) & we grew up with our paternal grandparents with care from our dad, uncle & aunt. I love them for everything they did for us, but they did tell us often whilst we were growing up…that we were lucky for the support & care & very often we felt obligated for all that was done for us, though now I’d say we were more than entitled to it yeah.
@@tehanisaighal4375 Sorry to hear that. I lost my mother at 12 (so Yagiz going to the US at 12 kind of hits close), but there wasn't anyone else to help out (no siblings either) so it has been just my father and me.
Honestly some real parents also keep telling their grown-up children how much they sacrificed for them, how grateful they should be etc.. have seen it happen.
Well i hope no one is thinking that all adoption are like that . These are just bad parents just look at their biological children all but 1 needs to be put in a straitjacket and taken to a mental hospital because something is really wrong with them mentally speaking. Yagiz maybe angry now but with time he will realize the best thing that ever happened to him was them sending him to America because maybe he would be just like Sinan and Selim God forbid.

I just wanted to put it out there because seeing this story may have an emotional impact on those who are adopted, or have adopted. Also worth noting is that Yagiz's 'adoption' by Hazim happened in a peculiar way - buying the baby of a man he killed! Adoption is usually more civilised than that and happens through choice and legal procedure, from an orphanage. For that matter we don't even know whether Yagiz is legally Hazim's son. Buying babies doesn't work ever since slave trade is illegal, but knowing how blind Hazim is about taking action on important things in his family, I doubt whether he bothered to legalise the adoption.

Moreover Hazan gave more time to yaghz just to make sinan jealous. She should have told her hate to Sinan she didn't ever try to let sinan things come down. She went with yaghz whenever sinan tried to confess what he has done. Maybe sinan would have changed if she could come to same page with sinan. The director developed a slow love between yaghz and hazan. She didn't actually know what to do about sinan now. Jealousy is the sign of love. Sinan gave her and yaghz what they deserved and he got back what he deserved. He was just blind because of her. Maybe he would have become a different person.
By the way hats off to director writer and whole team for incredible performance.

It would have been much better if Hazim told Yagiz about it years earlier, after he grew up. This whole mess could have been avoided. But then Hazim probably wouldn't be able to send him to the US and keep him there, as the discrimination would be evident to Yagiz even back then.

All stories need completion, and glad they completed arc for every character unlike other dramas where secrets don't see light of the day!

Because they where both spoiled brats and nobody in that family called them out on it. They always protected them even when they did something bad. Sinan and Selin knew how to play their family until the end . Now Sinan has nobody to clean up his messes. Sinan father disowned him , Hazan hates him , Sinan lost his brother Yagiz forever, but the way Yagiz is will forgive him eventually , but there brotherhood will never be the same where Yagiz take care of Sinan 24/7. No home no money . Sinan will be homeless and Selin should be in a mental hospital, but ends up killing herself.Sad ! Yagiz told his family she needs help , but nobody listen. That family was messed up from the beginning.
