I have all ways loved the Romans when I was a little kid of 5 on my black and white TV, they some times had Roman movies. And just may be able to watch the whole thing with out, my dad giving me chores to do, like digging holes and filling them up again. Kevin from sunny Mexico..
@@yacinekoutti9284 Greatest? He was just another usurper, he didn't even believe in YHWH, only being baptized later on life (even after his supposed conversion) and was still being represented on statues and coins with the images of Jupiter and Sol Invictus (look at the Column of Constantine). The first "truly" christian emperor was Theodosius I, who, as a good christian, banned all other religions, killed the non-believers and pillaged their temples and properties. And after that he divided definetly the Empire through his 2 useless sons. Constantine, Thedosious, Justinian, all called themselves "the Great" yet can't be even compared with pagan emperors like Diocletian, Trajan or Aurelian.
@Escipion200 Yes, but nevertheless Caesar was the one who tried to overthrow the republic, in which his nephew Octavian succeeded in. And btw, "Ave Caesar" was actually first used for the future roman emperors by gladiators in the arena.
i didn't see Greece take over Rome. i heard/ read about Rome taking over Greece though. maybe if Greece grouped together they MAY of had a chance. history is made by the victor. Rome won a lot. Rome was smart to stay away from Sparta though. read a little more about ancient Rome man. long live the empre!
Romans were incredible. They had the best army of the world, and they were the best soldiers of the History. AVE CAESAR, glory to the Republic!

@Escipion200 Just pointing out. Why do you first hail Caesar and then say 'glory to the republic'. ;)
Best army of the ancient world ancient world.
The marching units of the Roman Army didn't use spears, only the reserves the Triari used them. Roman used heavy Javelins and then swords
Song from is in rome total war.
Right, the Romans already knew how to counter elephants since the Battle of Zama. And to them the phalanx is a practical joke.
epic.
Yeaahhhhhh
Still don’t know where 😂😭
@SternMann93 because the republic against Caesar fought wasn't the type of republic I deffend. In the days of Caesar, the republic was in decadence.
they're fighting with spatha instead gladius?
@SternMann93 Well you're right, but I think in Rome was necessary a change.

Okay okay
legionary beat phalanx beat archers beat spearman beat cavalry beat horse archers beat legionary
However, the seleucid king, Antiochus III the Great, in spite of all this military power, could not defeat the roman army.
not best soldiers, best navy in a time where naval trade was everything
Louder
Pretorian Cavalrie
and yet the romans cud beat and did beat all of that
I disagree with you, the Seleucid emire had the best army, elephants, phalanxes, chariots...
Please don't call the Seleucid King...emir
Ahhh no
I love the Romans don't get me wrong, but surely by logic the best soldiers in history were the British?, biggest empire in the world and all :)
Perhaps but France has won more battles by far than any other nation in history. Napoleon for years was unbeatable.
ugh dont like this version :S im used to the non-vocal and without the precussion
