I never thought any song would beat Euphoria as the best winner in Eurovision in my opinion but... I think this did. T.T Never was so affected by any song in ESC before. It's hard to compare those 2 though since they are very different.

After listening to it a couple of times, I could barely tolerate her singing. Until she starts wailing, then my ears hurt. And I hate the fact that she broke the most important rules and the EBU let her. BUT THE INSTRUMENTAL IS AMAZING!!!
+topcatrox In THEIR eyes, that's the problem. Like everyone, they pity Ukraine and so they just said it was all according to rules. Fact is: the song IS political and it WAS performed before the earliest date a song was allowed to be presented.
Captain JaneRoad Fact is there is no maintext political wording in the song, what makes it political is the context outside of the song, the reaction in people. It's no political than Conchita Wurst, or Russia sending peace ballads, or France sending a song about WWII, or Hungary being all about Wars for Nothing, or Armenia singing about the Armenian genocide, or Abba singing about the Battle of Waterloo. People pick and choose which ones they see offence in. As for the second rule it didn't break the commerciality rule aka it being released for consumption aka as a record, and the fact this was all dug up post-contest when people were at the height of their slandering efforts against Jamala they're all out of luck for that one then add to the fact it's a completely different beat and lyrical order, no rule break. Again, didn't see these complaints for Anouk commercially releasing the song on public broadcast radio two years before the contest or the songwriters of Belarus 2013 releasing a demo of the song on MySpace. Or Loreen's Euphoria being shopped around to artists for years. Songs are written before the September ruling and always have been, either they need to change the rule or make it easier to ban. Anyway, yah great beat from a great artist, obviously inspired by great musicians like James Blake, Burial and Thom Yorke. Great winner either way. Have a nice day.

It's a karaoke, the backvocals are part of the instrumental, chorus, does it mean smthg for you? What is not a karaoke would be to let the lead vocal at a low volume, but here it's not the lead vocal it's backvocals which is also used live by artist and that doesn't cover the entire song. At the begining when you sing in low key, the backvocals are singing in high key to harmonize, it is a karaoke
I will never get over how good this song is. The fact that it's so underrated by so many people all around the world is heartbreaking.
Its a politics bait song. Wouldn't have won if it wasnt about war
Singing this song today for the people from Ukraine, stay strong!

She did break the rules she performed a song in a concert or public place and use a different title called Bizim Qirim i think
Очень простая песня в сравнении с другими. Половину песни просто идёт разговор, а не пение, потом начинается вой.
