    Thank you Peter for a very fair review of the Hydromax, warts and all. As you are aware I own an identical version, coming up to its first anniversary. As you point out it is (very) inexpensive, especially when bought on special. I would say stunning value for money when compared to the micro brands and entry level 'name' brands. I was somewhat disappointed that you failed to mention that the bracelet incorporates a very serviceable ratcheted divers extension, helium release valve and the GMT functionality was not further emphasised. The other omission, if I could be so bold, is the Invicta's WEIGHT !. The Hydromax is a serious lump on one's wrist and wearing it should not be taken lightly ... pardon the pun.

      Appreciate Video clip! Sorry for the intrusion, I would love your thoughts. Have you ever tried - Dinanlinson Energy Source Approach (erm, check it on google should be there)? It is a good one off guide for discovering super food to super charge your energy minus the hard work. Ive heard some amazing things about it and my m8 after a lifetime of fighting got great results with it.

    As far as the size, if someone asked, I would just say that it helps balance the weight of the M1911 that I carry on the other side... :)

    Very good review. I must say it is quite large at least for my wrist. I will agree everyone loves a depth rating weather they're into diving or not.👍

    With that thinking in mind, a deeper depth rating would equate to a deeper reach in my pocket as well. I cannot find a watch that goes deeper under $1000. I have a Hydromax as well as other watches, including a Rolex, and I believe Invicta nailed it with this watch. It is beautiful, can be purchased for under $200, beats all other watches for depth rating for the price, and goes to show how superior a super deep sea watch really is if you pay the price. Can this watch be the king depth rating for the price? I think it is.

      The thing is, if you like it and like the way it looks on you that's the only thing that matters. I sometimes wear my big invictas in public and get stupid looks but who f ing cares, my life doesn't revolve around other people's feelings or opinions.

    I’ll agree to disagree! There was no need to make this a 4000 m diver. The fact that it’s a homage watch doesn’t mean it has to live up to every aspect of the original it simply means Rolex built this incredible watch that we would like to honor it by designing our watch to look similar to the original not to be an exact copy of the original there’s simply no need and especially if you want to keep the price low! People who know watches will understand what exactly it is and I think I’m happy with the end results! Anyway great review !

  • @NorthSpider

    Well I get your point about the thickness and the 1000m limit. But lets be honest, When people go under 1000m depth they have to be in a special submarine in order to survive it, so isn't more than 1000m for a wristwatch not enough already? Just mentioning this. If I'm wrong feel free to correct me. The thing thats bothering me more is the fact that this model didn't come out yet with an automatic movement. Or do automatic movements do not operate well in extreme deep water?

  • @daveisnothere5005

    I like big watches and suprisingly they dont look too ridiculous on me even though I'm skinny and have skinny wrists

  • @MichaelAChang
    @MichaelAChang 4 роки тому

    The timing crystal might be the limiting factor of depth rating - the pressure inside the watch will crush the crystal can - and that's about what you can expect from an inexpensive off-the-shelf Ronda movement.

  • @fldiverjc4496

    great video and review peter..
    it is a somewhat attractive watch..I also own several normal sized invictus and feel they are great bang for the buck..but I can't say that for this model..if I'm not mistaken here in the states I can pick up the borealis bull shark or sea farer 2 for either same or less money..and would be getting a much better made watch..with sapphire crystal to boot.
    all in all enjoyed the review keep up the great work
    I retract my remark about the cost..must have dropped drastically since last time I had checked watch out..I now feel it's a good value for price..

    Good morning, and nice video! As a new subscriber, and fan of Invicta watches, I must admit the Hydromax is at the epicenter of my growing collection. I own several Pro Divers and Grand Divers but the Hydromax captures the essence of what a large, simplistically elegant watch looks like. Keep up the great videos! Be Well! JMc from Big D

    speaking from experience with a hydromax, they don't like water. i snorkeled with mine once when it was new, and everything was tight. it fogged up badly for days. i was lucky that no signs remained once it dried, but suffice to say, it is not my dive watch any longer lol.

  • @thebob5568

    another problem with this watch is that if you have to change the battery, the water resistance is toast unless you send it back to invicta or a company that knows what their doing

    I have to agree with you. This is a monstrosity for no good reason. 5000 metres would have been perfect. It looks amazing looking directly at the face. But when you get a side angle view, it looks ridiculous. I was on the bench about buying this watch. Thankfully I saw your review and I totally agree it is ridiculous. I chose an Addiesdive homage Captain Willard for about the same price.

    Therein lays the issue with Invicta, and I really want to like them, but can't. Their marketing and design team consistently disappoints. They are all flash and their function rarely lives up to its looks. They're just embarrassing to wear in front of watch connoisseurs.
    They seriously need new management. Why make a tacky watch, when it's just as easy to make a classy watch?

    • @WuBloodKin09

      Hoop Well, here's an answer ... if you live your life by what other people think of you and what you wear...what does that make you? Last I checked we were born alone and we will die alone...so what is your purpose of life? To wear shit that people who you don't even know you or judge you by what you wear? Unbelievable damn you're sad sack of life homie, grow a pair, smfh...Obama years has done your mentality in for the worse....Sad!

    PS: if you can dive to 1000 feet let me know. You are amazing. So who cares below 500 feet what the watch is set to go? It is what it is for history more than your love of a watch. Buy the Reserve Divers of 330m or 200m if what you want is thin. My opinion.

  • @thebob5568
    @thebob5568 5 років тому

    it’s a cool looking watch, but the depth is ridiculous...also a swiss quartz movement is a falacy... a battery is a battery...is a battery...that being said, their watches look cool...also, usually it’s more impressive to fit a movement into a watch with minimal depth...also, you have to be mindful of not smashing the watch when you turn corners
