I’m an 80’s girl and a Journey fan. When I first heard Running Home I was instantly drawn to it then I heard the lyrics. My favorite line is “you can’t go forward when you’re looking back.”
Wow, when I heard this song, in the car, it took me back to Steve Perry at a journey concert. This song has that classic rock and Christian message in one. Love it!

The message of the lyrics are awesome of course but what gives the song that throw-back feel is the big B3 Hammond organ sound with the droning bottom chord D chord that the top chords work around which is my favorite vibe. Along with the tasteful lead and Cochrens gravily voice makes for one great song, all giving glory to God and His great love for His prodigal son to come home! Coming from the 70's and 80's music, this is my new favorite tune!

I thank you for sharing your perspective of Ro 8:28 and how God turned the horrible cross around to be the opposite and how we can have hope in our circumstances because my only son married a woman he met online and she gave him a ring with a copy of her thumb print on it then made him quit the church he went to 20 years dump all his Christian friends and forbid him to see me speak to me or even sent me a Mother’s Day card she told his father to tell me to stop talking to my son ever again and he follows her like in a one person cult . I been praying 2 years about this. This song I saved in my email in case someday I can forward it to my son.I don’t have his phone number now or email address I pray God helps me forgive and forget
