- Det. Jason Rivera’s wife Dominique Luzuriaga told a packed St. Patrick’s Cathedral that her young husband would continue to live through her.
She told a packed St. Patrick's Cathedral full of police, dignitaries and local leaders that "the system continues to fail us."
Former officer. I’ve never seen anything as courageous and emotionally raw as what I just saw here. My heart breaks for her and Jason’s family. Rip brother.

Watching this from the high plains of Texas, tears flowing down my face for a man I never met, for the woman he loved speaking words of remembrance, one thing among many stood out, Jason Rivera gave his live as a hero and martyr for the city he loved. With his death, I pray those who love law and order will rise up and make the changes that have to be made to secure and make safe once again one of the greatest cities on the face of the earth.

Sometimes I learn of another police officer's death while my husband is at home sleeping in preparation for his night shift. Whenever this is the case, I go in our room, cuddle him, kiss him on the head, and reflect on how grateful I am that my husband came home from duty yet another day.
So heartbreaking.. Childhood love, May God give her and his family peace, comfort and love through this difficult time. May both of these young Officers Rest In Love and get the justice they and all of the other Officers in Blue who sacrificed their lives protecting and serving they all deserve.
