    I went on ravelry to look up the Step by step sweater and I found your project it looks great. I'm going to have decided weather to do cream or blue as a main colour for my'n. Good luck with your WIPS this winter.

      Thank you! What’s the contract colour you’re planning on working with? Because I actually think a cream AND blue striped sweater would be glorious!!! Thank you for the luck haha I’ll need it as I keep getting distracted with new patterns 😉 Sending you good luck too!

      Thank you!!! It’s so funny because I saw the colour on the website before going and was like “this is it!”, then got discouraged when the colour didn’t come in the weight I wanted - proceeded to do a WHOLE loop of the store only to land back on this one 😂 Have you used Penelope before?!

    20:28 the devil wears prada is one of my favorite movies, and it's a work of satire! elements like clearly-very-thin actress anne hathaway being called overweight throughout the movie are intentionally toxic and ridiculous to criticize the culture of the fashion industry, ESPECIALLY at the time.

    A lot of my plans involve beautiful greens and browns too!!! (And creams)

    I don´t want to discourage you but I find the arctic light sweater is not an easy pattern. It is written very good and the result is beautiful. But all these different cables demand attention. I would recommend another cable sweater for a cable beginner. I knitted many cable sweaters and I began the arctic light sweater in February. It is not finished yet. I want to finish it at some point but it was not very pleasant for me to knit because it wasn´t possible for me to knit and watch tv since the chart is very busy if I might say so.

      Thank you so much for the insightful information! I’m probably what one would call a confident beginner when it comes to cables 😝 I’ll take this info into consideration before moving forward with it, but I’m also very content with knitting in focused silence haha (when I case this sweater one, it definitely won’t be my travel knit)!

      I would recommend polo style cable sweater or the one I’ve started, Other Loops sweater :) instead of whole aran cable sweater!

      I agree on the complexity of the Arctic Light sweater. A plus are the video tutorials but a minus is also that it comes out a bit bulky in the armpits. An other and easier alternative is perhaps the Ellington by Jennifer Wood? I am currently knitting the Billie pullover by Sari Nordlund which is a nice Aran design.

      So i just finished the Arctic Light sweater as my very first cable project - it definitely was a challenge!! It took me a long time (and a fair bit of frogging) but in the end I did end up with a finished piece that I'm incredibly proud of. All this to say is that it's totally possible to knit this sweater even if you've never done cables before! So if you're really in love with it, I say go for it - as long as you're okay with a steep learning curve 😂

    I don’t know much about the Arctic Light sweater but if you want an easy cable sweater that’s pretty classic look at the Dornie sweater by The Creabea. I made one last year for my husband and plan on making one for myself this year because the pattern is super easy to read and once you get to a certain point you don’t need the charts. Give it a look! Oh and it has an elevated back that makes it super wearable (my husbands words lol)

      Oh thanks Tamara for the pattern recommendation! I’ll definitely take a look, I’ve been eyeing The Creabea’s Cargill sweater for a while now too sooooo maybe that one is also a contender! Also, LOVE the husband’s endorsement on the sweater LOL def will be taking into consideration :P

    Congratulations on your first test knit! 😍 What a dream to get to knit such a beautiful garment too! Can't wait for it to become available! And yes I also have a brown color scheme going on this fall 🤣 but also orange shades and dark greys! 🍁🍂 Hope you are feeling well this fall and I'm glad you get to have a doggo for company to cheer you up! 🥰

      Thank you!! I honestly feel so thankful that I was selected for the test knit, it’s been a blast of a process so far! Brown just seems to be such a safe neutral without being grey/black, you know!! Haha. So far the sprits for enjoying fall are high, I hope they last!!! Enjoy your beautiful yarn colour selections

    Terrific episode again, MaryAnn, and not at all late in my opinion! It has been on and off really warm this September and, as you said, September 21 is the official start!! I knit my husband the Sille slipover last year in almost exactly that moody deep petrol color you’re using for the Lily Frill sweater. It is such a cool and cozy look! On my knitting list this fall is the Dornie Sweater. I was also contemplating the Artic light but for some reason I went with the Dornie last winter… but then didn‘t get around to knitting it. Both are beautiful! This will be my first cable sweater. I also have plans to make my soon to be daughter-in-law an April Cardigan…. And I‘m about a third of the way through my Aros Sweater. Big plan this weekend though is to finish the I-cord straps and such on the Kutaar top (so I didn‘t quite make my deadline, but close enough!😅). We‘ve actually still got some warmth here this week so I think I can get a wear out of it before I put all the summer stuff away!

      @bymwu  Рік тому

      Thanks again Rebecca, you’re comments are always SO sweet. 🥰 Oh a Sille Slipover in that deep colour would be beautiful!! I hope your husband gets a ton of wear out of it :) The Dornie sweater is so lovely, I hope you get to cast it on and finish it this year! We may be on our first cable sweater journey together! Hah. Also I would say that you made the deadline 😉 here’s to getting to wear it at least once before the cold weather settles in!!

      Haha SUCH a good movie, I never actually went to fact check if the sweater they’re holding is really cerulean… imagine a whole bunch of us using the term wrong because we’re all citing the same source 😂
