Additionally, adjuncts face more demanding research and teaching requirements and they can be fired for not meeting those. Tenured professors face more relaxed requirements, if any. Furthermore, depending on state laws and regulations, more and more adjuncts are being forced to become "at will" employees which is a legal term of art - it means the employer can let them go for any reason whatsoever. A tenured position can only be terminated "for cause" - which requires illegal behavior, sexual harassment, gross negligence or something truly egregious to even set off the termination proceedings. Firing an adjunct is pretty easy. To fire a tenured person, there's a much more complicated, extensive process that needs to take place including official hearings, quasi-legal proceedings and potentially going to court. The point of tenure is to guarantee the safety of ideas and discussion in universities. It makes sure that universities can't fire extravagant professors or those that simply propose radical ideas that are scientifically unorthodox at the time. It's unfortunate therefore that education has become much more like a business that wants to be able to fire employees left and right as long as it suits their image and profit margins. Tenure positions are now rarer than ever in history and it has made academics into paupers. The erosion of tenure holds back scientific progress and drains the scientific community of talent.

If I were to pick one piece of art over another, I'd rather have something that actually just looks nice rather than a "conversation starter". Patterns are cool, space is cool, flowers are cool, spooky or just really nice landscapes are dope. I'm alright with abstract if it's like, some weird dark galaxy looking thing, but I'd rather my art not just be a single shape, or look like a 10 year old made it. I'd prefer art without people in it, and I'm not just looking for the typical fruit bowl painting with some grapes, some oranges, apples, and a vase of flowers.

Relativistic interpretation is ruining majestic or otherwise noble art because someone can haphazardly throw paint and it will be deemed a masterpiece. But that is apparently a controversial opinion.

A Jackson Pollock painting actually has very technical brushstrokes and composition. “Haphazardly throwing paint” is not the point. I'd prefer art without people in it, and I'm not just looking for the typical fruit bowl painting with some grapes, some oranges, apples, and a vase of flowers.
Well, with the unfortunate turn in the arts, art like what you are describing is becoming more rare. Relativistic interpretation is ruining majestic or otherwise noble art because someone can haphazardly throw paint and it will be deemed a masterpiece. But that is apparently a controversial opinion.
I’m not that into modern art either, but you can’t just write it off as “looking like a 10 year old could make it”. That’s dishonest. A Jackson Pollock painting actually has very technical brushstrokes and composition. “Haphazardly throwing paint” is not the point. It’s interesting how modern art can evoke an emotion without drawing on familiar imagery, or the clichés that come with the so-called “noble art” that you describe. The fact that these new styles of art are emerging is a great thing, because the art world is now open to wild experimentation, free from the endless cycle of portraitists and landscape artists in high demand before these movements.
P.S. The fact that blank white canvases sell for millions of dollars is still bullshit.

Regarding the Elon Musk thing: The main thing people have against him (from what I've heard) is the anti-union/anti-workers rights thing that NL mentioned. All that other stuff (not liking Futurama and w/e) if course doesn't matter, but the way he treats workers is actually really shitty. I still the actual work he's doing and he's obviously very smart, but I do wish that he wouldnä't go full on cold blooded capitalist at all times.

They don't want to lose viewers and stuff. They want to try to make everyone happy and enjoy their content. People who can't handle that and leave are just as bad as people who gets offended easily and leaves, so they gotta choose.
Plus it adds to the humor for when they DO say something offensive. Hitler saying "Kill the Jews" isn't nearly as funny as a normal person who never says that suddenly saying that. They can do comedy without relying on controversial things to be funny, if that is not what someone wants there are plenty of other channels who does.
