My concern about this game is first of all our recent history of playing bad after a biweek , second Louisville playing us as if this was their ACC Championship game and us not responding accordingly.
This is a whole different team than previous seasons. Cam Ward will not let the team play down. Miami is the #1 offensive yards,points and passing yards. We have a NFL qb playing at Miami.
Front 7 gets a high rating on defense. It shows in what we nerds call the KPIs. Key Performance Indicators... Rush defense, TFLs, and team sacks. UM is top 12 or above in all of these. UM still has room for improvement because they had moments where they did not tackle well and gave up some huge plays at the LOS. Having said that the secondary has really looked suspect and allowed some really big plays and I refuse to believe it's lack of talent.
I'm confident in Cam and the offense putting up points. The REAL challenge falls on Lance and the defense. Last year Brohm totally ruined Lance's head with his offensive scheme. The secondary needs to play disciplined, pick up their assignments fast, and tackle..tackle..tackle. This Manny Diaz arm tackling didn't cut it then and it sure as hell doesn't cut it now. If the defense could play better, it'd take a butt load of pressure off of the offense. Hopefully on Saturday I'll sound a lot less like Clara Peller and asking "Where's the Deee?" Just win, baby! The defense needs to let the plays to develop and make the tackles. They have been guessing the holes & they are hitting another hole. Too aggressive play.
UL always plays miami likecits the fricking superbowl and we make their qbs look like heisman candidates. All the way to the early 00s. I remember charlie jones fumbling on the UL 1 yd line. We were about to go up 14-0. Then they drove it down and tied the game. That miami team basically gave up
