Was setting this up for Qnap -> Synology (DSM7) across the internet, and everything appears to talk through the FW's, etc, however, when I attempt to review the remote rsync folders on the Synology from the QNAP to map the folders, it just spins forever. I even created a fairly small folder with 1 file in it, and it still just sits there. Any thoughts?

looks like the HB3 changed and I cannot figure out to sync to the Synology now. I was able to connect to the synology as a remote server, but I cannot see it as a destination to backup/sync to.

Unfortunately I a bit disappointed with the video as i wasted 3 hours to figure out why i failed to transfer my files in QNAP to my new Synology DS920+ (which is brought it after your video comparison between its newly launched products).
The point is that you forgot to mention we have to enable "rsync" in the control panel in the synology NAS and create an account for the rsync! Afterwards we can use the QNAP HBS 3 to choose the file we want and transfer that to my new Synology, after inputing those account name and pw!
And apparently you have already done that on your synology NAS in the past so its working for you! But it takes me a few hours to know whats the problem!
It would be way better to make video about either "QNAP -> Synology" or "Synology -> QNAP", instead of "between synology and QNAP", as the video could become very confusing for us to follow!
Overall i feel like QNAP system is much easier get started with than that of synology. But certainly i come across serious problem on losing storage space and hacking/malware issue with the QNAP too.

Is this possible from different locations using internet?
I'm considering the purchase of a qnap for my business and backup on a Synology at home. Do you have any other explanation video?

I want to migrate data from my old Drobo FS to my new Synology DS1621+. Can I do this with Rsync on Synology to copy from Drobo to Synology?

Does Rsync work in just one direction? Or can you sync a folder both ways?

I am trying to backup data from 1813+(2TB x 8) to 1821+ (8TB x 8). In my case, I can use "rsync" feature from Synology DSM ?

Dang! I was carefully writing all the steps down after you said FROM Qnap to Synology first THEN vice versa second but you have gone about it the opposite direction first up. Now, you are skipping steps...where is jobs? On what nas is it? Yes, it's the qnap but I learn this later in the step not up front. For example open jobs on Qnaps but are the username and pword to be created first? Dunno. I'm all confused now.
Okay, I will start this process again but maybe these two directions should have been treated as completely separate processes IE start fresh for the other direction. Thanks for stepping through this . . . just sayin,' could have been cleaner is all.

What is the fastest way to transfer files from a WD PR2100 NAS to Qnap TS-453D NAS?

Does this work faster than manually transferring data from nas to nas using usb?

I'd like to know how this would work over the internet. The only way such an backup would make sense is if the two NASs are not in the same location. Is this possible using rsync?

Thats true. I read about ISCSI but iam not shure how to enable this option and if its a real backup option. But Rsync some folders to a friend at a different location would be a good thing.

This works. But how to get the fastest speeds between the two? Qnap has aggregate port, Synology does not. I am using a router between the two with a PC to talk to each NAS. The speeds I got are less than 100MB/s. A LAN speed test to each NAS from the pc scores 700MB/s. How to achieve high speed between the two?

don't mix up Mbit and MByte
bit is a small b and Byte a big B

One annoying thing is that most of these techniques just skip file attributes, which turns your music folders into shit.
