Ruby we now know that drug use is usually a symptom of a much larger problem. One thing to know is using certain drugs can change the chemical make up of the brain making it very difficult to leave it behind because most people believe if you just have will power...
And it’s time society takes some of the blame. 4 out of 5 heroine addicts became addicted to pain medication that were prescribed by their trusted doctor. We prescribe very addictive and brain altering substances to children as early as 3 years old. And then people like you call them losers when they have no idea why they are drug addicts. Just food for thought

    • @shayekisitu

Mattie Jay Amen to that. Bravo to you for bringing this up. Even now we are still injecting our infant children with what are deemed “So-Called” immunizations and then wonder why the child eventually winds up with a diagnosis by the same doctors as exhibiting signs of “Autism” and several other types of developmental irregularities etc. Or the pregnant mother being prescribed pre-natal “vitamins” that are chalked full of fillers and other unnamed substances formulated in labs to look like they are good for the mother when in fact they are causing major health issues for the mother and her unborn child all because we went to the obstetrician and this is what they tell mothers to take. Truth: doctors are visited on a regular basis by Drug Reps from the multi-billion dollar pharmaceutical corporations and they are given “kick-back” bonuses when the doctor prescribes these “so-called” prenatal vitamins and other such otc and prescribed substances touted as being good for the public when in fact it is causing more health problems on a grand scale. The answer is research on a personal level, visiting an ocularist, holistic, natural, edible herbs 🌿 from a certified herbalist and spices with no additives or preservatives that extend the shelf life. As a society we have allowed ourselves to become naive and too trusting of those who we visit seeking a remedy for health issues. Research, research and yet more research.

@@Melinda8162 Children and teenager make wrong decisions, because their brain is not completely developed, no matter if they come from a rich or poor family. To blame is the medical system, who charges too much money for treatments. The treatments should be free or for low costs. It's not Cameron's fault, all kinds of drugs are changing your brain and you can be addicted in a short period of time.

Victoria Juergens-Renfro Adultery, reckless and unashamed by Michael wrought real devastation. Mom should not have told but the husband did it. He hasn’t seemed sorry either. Kirk Douglas was a big adulterer too but later in life, admitted he deeply regretted it. This young man had the best lawyers (or his behind would still be in jail) and now the Douglas name getting a book deal & I am sure he is living well with his girlfriend. After I ran out of pain meds as they were taken as prescribed, I was confused and horrified. That was my first official withdrawal & you never forget. Apparently I experience things worse due to nerves. I don't judge or dislike anyone anymore after that long hell & recovery. He belonged in prison .... he probably 'helped' other addicts if he was supplying them that couldn't afford to get help to break their habits because they didn't have any resources ( no money, no caring family) so they either are still addicted or dead . There are many reasons why people fall into addiction. His childhood could have been perfect, with working class non famous parents and he could have still chosen that path.
I was the second child, born in 1964 with a stay at home mom and a dad who drove log truck.
We were poor. They were in their mid 30's when they had kids. They drank but weren't alcoholics. They had horrible fights. Got divorced when I was 10. We were homeless for a while and I spent from age 10 till I left at 18 being degraded and physically abused by my mom
My dad remarried when I was 12 and had 4 more kids
I saw my dad 1 time a year at Christmas as he sat in his car and passed presents through the car window
I'm now 55. I have never drank alcohol nor have I ever tried any drugs. Don't smoke either.
I've struggled emotionally but I' made the life I wanted and never had as a kid.
My husband and I met at 18 and 21, got married a few months later and had a daughter at 19 and 22. Were celebrating 33 years soon
We've had an amazing marriage and we had an amazing daughter
Build our new house just before our daughter turned 3
She grew up in this house( were still here) she was a very happy child and even a pretty terrific teenager and never gave us any trouble
Her issues started at 23 when she started abusing Percocet (2 years) then went to detox
It's been 7 years she has severe anxiety and depression
Percocet then Xanax suboxone and all kinds of depression meds and now we're dealing with her new addiction as of June. Meth
You never really know why people turn to drugs but you can't assume it's a crappy childhood or that you're parents weren't there
All kids of people for all kinds of reasons choose drugs
Our daughter was very much loved and had a very good childhood and she was on the right track till it all suddenly fell apart at age 23.
Of all the things I endured as a child, this is way harder than all of that.
This has been devistating to know I could get that call any time.
I just wish she would come home.

      goblueangela thank you
For her it started with headaches she kept getting in her early 20s and she had a boyfriend who was prescribed Percocet for his back and he gave her one to try to see if it would help her headaches. It did so she just kept taking them till she kept having to take more and more
While in detox they put her on Suboxone then after rehab her Suboxone doctor put her on Xanax which led to a whole other set of problems along with her anxiety other anxiety medicine and her depression medicine and over the course of the last seven years she’s been on and off many different medications that have been prescribed to her by doctors. She is still on Suboxone she is on an anxiety medication she’s on a depression medication and she’s also taking ketamine now for her headaches which was prescribed by the Suboxone doctor and now you add math on top of it and I really don’t think she should be taking ketamine or Suboxone
If you’re not familiar with ketamine it’s a veterinary anesthetic that they use as a horse tranquilizer but they also use it in human surgery for people who have reactions to other kind of anesthesia but it’s very dangerous and should not be given to someone who is battling with addiction already

It's easy and makes you feel safe to blame his dad but not realistic. It gives us a false belief "it won't happen to my kids because I know better". Children from every possible circumstances become addicts. It's a mental health crisis happening all around us with no good treatment. More people seek help and relapse than succeed. We are on A path to grow the problem with legal access to pot and opioid over use. The more we normalize drug use, WE (society) are the problem. Where will the clear mind adults come from in future generations?

No one knows the Hell that an addict is going through except the addict themselves. That's why it takes a person who has went down this lonely path can understand how it WAS.
I myself have had many rehab's for years before I GOT IT. I cannot say that I was not ready to give-up the alcohol going to those rehab's. Many times I was ready to stop drinking when I went away for treatment. It's when you get out of those treatment centers that you have to be be careful. I could stay off the sauce for about 9 to 18 months and then 'bame' and I was off to the races again. I have been sober for 34 years now. What was the recovery key ? People.
That was the answer for me. I kept in close contact with A.A friends. I did not live alone like before. I began to believe in a God who I always prayed to for HELP.
When your alone with 'stinking thinking' or depressed, you've got to talk to someone. Go to one of those 'damn' meetings weather you feel like it or not. Your own feelings are negative sometimes and you've got to snap out of it. And you've got to practice this positive way of life 'one day at a time'. It's a simple program for complicated people. God you you all.

Michael D. Williams III sorry to hear that, please look up dr. Olivier Amisen curing people with alcohol and drug addiction with high doses of Baclofen and Switzerland getting drug addicts back functioning in society with their maintenance programs. They are very conservative in their country but the drs. said they had to admit it works for Heroin. Dr. Amisen used himself as a guniea pig. I usually write more but I have some debilitating pain, I never have been addicted because I have so many issues with side effects and allergies and I never take beyond what is prescribed and openly communicate with my doc. I hate that we are lumped in with drug addicts but still have massive compassion for alcohol and drug addicts. They used to be treated as suffering patients until the DEA messed the Harrison act up. They need help not prison. Commitment, they say you have to wait until their rock bottom but I think their brains are so messed up they need long term commitment using these methods I mentioned. Baclofen works on heroin and opiates and cocaine and meth, alcohol and sex and gambling, even shopping compulsion. It has a 70 percent cure rate yet we in the states never hear of it. May the angels comfort you. ❤️
