So a quick tip that iv found amazingly effective when using painters tape came from a friend of mine who’s a painter and decorator, once you have applied your tape to where you want it use your finger or a cue tip and slightly dampen the edge your painting up to which will form a seal on that edge then when you peel of the tape it will leave the cleanest line you will have ever seen. Merry Christmas hobby dudes 🎄
I purchased both the Wow Stick and the Color Cubes when you first recommended them, and they are the best hobby investments I've made (except for paints and brushes). The Wow Stick...it does what it's supposed to do, faster and better than a pin vise. I don't come from an artistic background, and have struggled with color schemes for 30 years. Art books gave references and taught color theory, and I have color wheels galore; but it just never seemed to stick if I used more than 2 colors. The Color Cubes are a dream come true for me! I can't recommend them enough to anyone who struggles with color schemes, or just wants to try something new. 100% worth the price! Thanks, Jon!
As someone going through this right now I really needed some hints. The fact that you brought up models really hit home, last year my kids got me models and I had to hold off on my projects to paint them so they could see them done.
The thing about investment in the models is soooo true. I was on a comp list once for models from a company, for some online work I was doing. Its cool and all, but it can also rob you of some of joys of the hobby like going out and getting that thing you want and getting it home to tear into it. It can also overwhelm you really quick as you see your workload increase by huge margins every time a box arrives.
"If you're a particular crazy person you can go all the way up to 2500 grit..." Me, Glancing over at my sanding/polishing stick set that goes up to 7000 grit: "Haha, yeah, that would be CRAZY."
And I got a pack that goes up to 12,000- haven't used it on models yet, it's in my jewelry tools, as sometimes I need to glass-finish resin/ plastic parts. Anyhoo- where did you get the cracked concrete Mr. Jon? I think you mentioned it on one hobby tools vid, but can't find it and it's not on your list o stuff.
As someone with a resin printer, the resin I like and isopropyl alcohol are always nice. I've been using the gorilla double sided tape and it's been great, you might want to try it.
I would normally agree with you 100 % about not needing any new models… however I just went through an apartment fire 2 months ago and lost all of my painted armies as well as my entire pile of shame….kinda depressing when I think about it!
Recommend the liquitex inks had never used them before but had seen plenty of vids on them and picked up the white one to try doing runes on a terminator librarian they made them so easy to do, put the white in first then mixed some plasma coil effect from army painter with em went over them and couldnt be happier with the effect, I have since picked 6 more to try different effects with.
Question: Where can I find those color cubes with pictures? They are the only items not linked in the description and on Google I only manage to find ones without pictures. Any help is appreciated 💚
As someone who would like to see this type of video become a recurring drop each year, it would be more helpful in early to mid-November when making a list before Black Friday sales. 2 weeks before Christmas makes it a little harder to act on.
The pop widget at 10:00 is the most brilliant hobby tip I have gotten in over a decade. I currently own one I got for a buck at 5 Below in the shape of a foot. :D It has 26 bubbles, and since it's silicon, almost no paint sticks at all. And I've found the best quartest of paints to try from a line to get a feel for them are a medium blue, a bright red, either a desaturated green or brown, and the white. This pretty much tends to give you the most and least opacity of the paints, lets you see the finish of the colors, and the quality of the white can often show the worst tier of a given paint line.
If GW was the only miniature company I'd have stop playing after they shut down whf in 8th edition (giving a f about their customers/community) - and they keep doing that to date...
Ninjon, I pledged for your Exemplar Wet Palette and there's no sign of it being shipped out to Europe and they won't reply to my messages. Can you get some answers for your European and UK supporters?
I don't find the time every day to slay the gray. As such, from a single one-night painting session, I find myself with a dry pallet full of a myriad of paints from a myriad of brands. When I finally start getting ready for my next painting session, days or weeks later, and go to wash off that dry pallet, some paints rinse right off and others I really have to scrape at with a fingernail to get off. That paint adhesion across brands (and maybe individual colors) seems like something completely testable and intersting in a video. You should do that. You're welcome for the idea, and thanks in advance for making the video.
100% support the purchase of the cube. You can do the same thing 100s of other ways but but hot damn its a nice package all together and will dramatically improve your color decisions. If nothing else but a way to study how colors work together in a tangible manner.
So far I’ve all the paints from vince’s set, green and yellow from rogue hobbies, heavy warm white from ben and 3 paints from your set.. warm brown, dark warm flesh, dark plum and plan on buying dark ivory. The one paint that’s sold out everywhere is Matt’s Dark bronze.
I know that it should be obvious, but you might want to mention when joking about isopropyl alcohol not tasting very good, that it is actually poisonous and can make you good blind...
You're thinking of methanol more so than IPA. IPA can't blind you from swallowing it. If someone is swallowing IPA I think they've got other issues beforehand.
I asked my mom to get me the steel and gold NMM sets from AK. NMM is a personal goal I’ve set to myself as a new person to at least attempt and get good at.
When you were talking about the storage drawers, it reminded me of a joke: A psychiatric patient escaped from the asylum and ran into the local town. He broke into a woman's house while she was in the shower and 'had his wicked way with her' before running off again. The next day, the local newspaper headline read "Nut Screws Washer And Bolts"
Oh Look Ninjon shilling more crap. I swear nowadays these vidoes are more infomercials than hobby vids, this continues it will be about time to unsubscribe
Need y'all to release these videos a month earlier when I'm trying to put a list together haha
Second that!

I hope Daryl is doing well this holiday season. I feel like it's been a while since we've seen him around.

Slay the grey! I have officially base coated everything I have. I have no grey. Getting ready for winter painting.

I bought that box of skulls a few weeks ago, you can never have too many skulls .
Walmart carries a budget LED desk lamp that has warm, 'neutral' and cool settings. 20ish bucks and has battery if you want to travel with it.
If this is another Temu ad, I am gonna lose my shiz!!! 😂

Happy Holidays!
A bit late - my wifes already finished the Christmas present shopping
These unwarranted jabs at Vince that slips out every now and then is absolutely hilarious!
That game envy light is just way too good of a deal and it's upsetting that I bought the redgrass games light before the game envy one came out :/
I don't see anyone pointing out the stealth update to the Vizzik Golden Demon entry at 4:53. Cant wait to see the formal update vid!
15:36 My current favorite is Muddy Ground and shows Desert Sand. :) Wait a minute....
Do not sleep on the glass and the lamp
paint retarter is neat as well
That opening shot looks like my hobby desk at all times, not just the holidays. 🥲

1:00 dude be honest, Miniac also revealed why models as gifts aren’t the best, business write off.😅
😔 I've never had enough line items to justify itemizing my taxes.
Picked up his set for the red grey skin tone. By far in my top 10 paints. Amazing skin tone

What hobby light do you use Ninjon?
Love the hat
Would the tube of heavy body Titanium White paint work well for dry brushing (slap chop)?
Nice hat!
Love your content, big fan! I must admit, however, I miss the outtakes at the end of your videos!
We need more color cube videos!!!
Where’s the link to the color cube?
Gotta say it: Elfjon!

I am NOT a paint licker, how DARE you!?
Ok. Plicker.
I asked for a vortex mixer, cause shaking paint bottles is making my carpal tunnel so much worse.
I like my pin vice how I like my women, with lots of extra bits
Woah I just saw I was not subscribed, I know I was subscribed before. What's the deal UA-cam gremlins?
Oh hi. 2005 much?
