- Meet Justin Borucki, a photographer who specializes in taking portraits using a 150-year-old process called: Wet Plate Collodion. Not only is he creating these one-of-a-kind portraits, but he is doing so on the streets of New York City from the back of his van.

This is so amazing! Wet collodion photography on the street?!?!? Skill level: Jedi master
This is dope! Loved doing this together
Hi, TheTravelingClatt! Welcome to my channel and thanks for watching my video. I hope you will consider subscribing.
I love it! I inherited lots of tintypes from my ancestors, and I always wondered about the process. Thanks!
Amazing! I knew that just a few people did tintype anymore -- but for someone to do it on the street -- and let you see the whole process, wow -- that's fantastic! Thank you for sharing!
Thanks for watching!
this is so cool!!! I want my portrait taken by this guy! take me next time!! :D
He'll be around, I'm sure!
That was super interesting. Great vlog. Will look this guy up when we get out there again. Thanks.
Thanks, for watching!
Ok, that was WAY cool...and another reason why I need to make a trip to NYC. Thanks for showing the whole process!
This is super cool!! I do want to have a photo like that! ❤
Awesome, thanks for making this video about the process.
Thanks for watching!
Very very cool! So this is how the "travelling photographer" would have taken the tin type of Billy the Kid back in the 1880s? But with an older camera and lense. Do you know anything more about those "old time" photographers? There is ALWAYS alcohol involved in the old west ahahaha Thanks for this...love old photography/photos. Just subbed! ❤🤠
So cool! Obsessed with that intro so dynamic and so beautiful! 💕✨
Thanks, Jenn!
Omg that intro was sweet, never heard of tintype pictures.
I used to think the guys selling old movie scripts on Soho were cool.. this is next level.
Those guys are still really cool. I hope they keep the physical movie script alive
That was amazing. Thank you
Thanks for watching!
Thanks for sharing this, gonna try and find him when i visit in oct.
Def have to get a family portrait with this guy
Ah great content Jacob
This is a strange question, but where do you source your box/plastic box cover that you put the final image in for the customer? Well done! You're killin' it!!!
You'll have to message Justin directly. This isn't his channel so he won't see your question on here
Jacob Carlson thank you
Cool 😍
This is so epic
Thanks, Matthew
Cool! How much is the price? Thank you :)
Does this make you King of the Pictures too now?
Also, I see a wild Steve Yalo
Haha Yea, we made Steve wait quite a while when we got these taken. He is a champ.
👍
Wow! Where can I find this guy
His website and name are in the description. He often posts on his Instagram when he will be out doing portraits.
Love it! What does Justin charge for these?
Wouldn't be cheap as I priced up the silver and he would only get about ten 5x7 inch sheets for UK £99, ($136 ) then you have the tin plate, collodion, other gear, large format 8x10 cameras are not cheap, even the old second hand ones (I purchased an English 4x5 inch large format camera [Micro Precision Products Ltd (M.P.P.]) the bellows had more holes in it than Swiss cheese and paid £120 on eBay and £87 for new bellows I had to fit myself). But hey once he has varnished them your great great grandchildren will be able to see who you were, and the image quality is out of this world far better than any modern digital. Just checked it out, (Pop-Up Tintype Studio from $100, or 3 for $200.)
@@Normanskie it would be worth every cent. And it would last a lifetime I would think. Just beautiful!! I love it.
👍😄
nice video
Thank you!
@@JacobCarlson welcome friend
New sub love what your sharing followed you on ig RachelRawTruth
Cool vlog...
where does he get his power from?
Music credits please????????
Very nice job!
The only power he needs is to run the flashes and I think he has a specific battery for the flashes. Everything else is just small battery powered LEDs
@@JacobCarlson yes these are profoto battery opp 1200ws pacs.!!! thanks jacob! this turned out amazing!!!!
@@justinborucki327 Would you mind saying abit more about the flash units? What are the heads and bulbs? What is the max aperture of your lens?
Many thanks
Dave
@@DaveJSmith lens is 5.6 , lighgts are 2 x profoto 7b full power with magnum reflectors.... the reflectors are key as they are 2 stops brighter.
