    That's a nice tutorial! I often struggle with the middle layer in hard techno, getting stuck at whether I should put bass drone or trancy kinda bass or whatever else. Like watching your videos.

      Thanks for the great feedback, I truly appreciate it! Yeah the middle bass layer is tough. I’m personally (for hard techno) more leaning toward rhythmic bass patterns because they don’t flood everything with low mids.

    This is really good info, thanks. Please do more on the subject of getting techno kick and bass to breath together with some other reference tracks too, so we can see more examples of how to incorporate all this knowledge. Really clear explanation to follow what you are doing as well as A/B with and without effects etc to be able to soak in what each is really doing. thanks and keep up the great work

    A bit complicated. I think I get the idea though. Breaking up sounds into separate layers allows for complexity and experimentation, but also proper mixing. Very informative. Can’t wait to try some of this stuff 👍

    Hello, thank you for this video ! I was wondering though, why don't I have as many targets in the modulation matrix ? For instance at 18:00 you have about 10 targets, but when I copy what you do I only have 5 (Amp, Pitch, Osc 1 Pos, Osc 1 warp, unison). Thank you :)

      @@pickyourselfofficial i have a question: the kick must have bass like in this video or can i use only rumble (for example)?
      and how do I get space for synth if i have bass? i mean in the frequency spectrum

    • @pickyourselfofficial
      @pickyourselfofficial  6 місяців тому

      @@Andry87M Yes, you can totally supplement the kick with a rumble and use a less subby kick. Personally, I love strong kicks that have solid sub even without a rumble. But that's purely my taste. The second question isn't entirely clear to me. There still a ton of room for synths on top of a rumble (or even different bass sounds).

    The “simple way”? You’ve been tweaking a dozen different things for 20 minutes 😂 are there any principles or themes here? It seems you’re just showing us the process you used to make a loop but not really teaching general ideas or principles that can be used to make anything except this particular loop.

      What an unnecessary comment. He made this video in October last year, and while it's a strain of techno that's certainly not to my taste, if a creator wants to put the effort into something for which there is an obvious demand, then it's certainly no skin off YOUR whiny little nose.
