The higher the Hz, the more fluid the TrueMotion is. I haven't seen them perform side by side, so I can't say for sure if there is a noticeable difference. I do know that it was hard to track down this 240Hz TV. When I bought it, I had to have it shipped in from a Best Buy in a neighboring state.
The cable box setup wizard on the TV menu should walk you through this process. I don't have a cable box as I use a HTPC for my cable so I don't have experience with setting up the remote.
3D pop outs are really determined by the content. The best 3D I've seen on this TV was in one of the demo videos that you can stream to this television. It's a K-Pop music video "Mr Simple". A pocket watch comes out of the TV and it looks like you can touch it. I'm sitting a good 8-10 feet from my TV. No Hollywood movie has even come close to that kind of pop out. James Cameron has famously said that depth is preferable to pop outs. I haven't experienced lines, so I don't know what you mean.
As long as you have the True Motion selected, it will automatically show you the image in the maximum screen refresh rate. Having 60Hz in the top area is normal.
My guess is that it's too niche to add to a modern TV, especially since everyone wants to make thinner and thinner TV's. Your best bet is to route the audio through a receiver and then use the headphone jack on it.
12 hours a day? That's a lot of TV watching :D Did you buy an open box floor model or is it on 12 hours a day at your house? If it's a floor model, then hopefully you got a good discount on it. If it's on 12 hours a day at your house, it shouldn't burn out more easily than any other TV out there. Personally I'm very happy with my LG TV. If I could change anything about it I would have gone bigger and I wish it was a matte screen. Otherwise I'm extremely happy with it.
Very nice tv, I recommend last Lg 620 t which was last years model, I have a 55UE8000 samsung cant wait for the evolution kit.but really great tv have Fun and I hope you enjoy it.
BTW, 3D in the movie theater is Passive 3D. If it's good enough for the movie theater, it's good enough for my house. I do also have an active shutter 3D projector (that I haven't posted a video on yet, but it's coming). There really isn't a noticeable difference in quality between the two.
about my question to program the magic remote with Verzon's cable box I think it is a lost cause;it can be done but cumbersome to use in practice. for the time being i'll use both remotes until I get better infos. Thanks again for your prompt and useful advices;the company LG is really short on all technical problems and questions encountered by their users.
Did you hook up a cable box to your tv? I just got the 42 in version of this tv & have been trying to get my cable box & tv to talk to each other for a couple of days now. Did you need any special cables to make this work? I had a Samsung LCD tv & just screwed the cable into the “Antenna/Cable” port (worked just fine) so I assumed when I switched TVs I would be able to do the same thing…but no. I think I’m missing a really simple step somewhere but I’m not sure what the heck I’m doing :-\
THANKS FOR THIS VIDEO AS I AM IN THE MIDDLE OF UNBOXING MY UNIT.JUST ONE QUESTION:ACCORDING TO THE SPECS IT IS SUPPOSED TO ROTATE 10o RIGHT OR LEFT BUT MINE SEEMS TO BE SOLID NO MOVEMENT POSSIBLE;IS IT NORMAL? WOULD APPRECIATE YOUR INPUT.
thanks bro for your videos, I bought this tv because of your videos and I'm very pleased... it's a awesome tv i love it...! sorry for my bad english :D
yes 7:08 it says LCD. Led only implies to how the panel is back lit. It's not 100% true Led bulbs (for lack of the correct term which I don't know what is yet). The true Led bulbs are still mainly used in MASSIVE size advertisement things like in big cities in tokyo, etc. It's too expensive to shrink or use them in consumer tv's yet.
I wish I could help you out on this one. Without having a cable box to try it out with myself, I can't walk you through this. Keep trying though. Let me know how it works out.
Hi TechHarvest I have a question! What do you think about purchasing a display LG 47LM6700 tv? I purchased one at BestBuy, and I could still return it, and I'm having doubts. Im scared my tv won't last long because its been on display turned on for about 12 hours a day. Do you think getting a good deal is worth it?
At my place. LA4700 are available in 42 inch as I am using now ( I don't have much space in my room ). The price do not differ much from 47 inch though. It is a great tv with a reasonable price. But the 240hz kind of overpowered for me. Never minded much as my LA7400 tv are married to a PS4 anyways. I have another tv for dvd, bluray and other good stuff.
I have the 60 inch of this tv , before that had the full nano lm9600 but it was 55 inch , wish ibhad kept it now , worth so much lol that tv still hold us to todays new tvs but has 3D
THANKS FOR YOUR ANSWER REGARDING ROTATION OF SCREEN ON THIS TV. I HAVE ANOTHER QUESTION REGARDING HOW TO INITIAL REMOTE TO WORK WITH VERIZON'S CABLE BOX.SO FAR I HAVE TO USE BOTH REMOTES THE MAGIC REMOTE AND THE ONE FROM VERIZON. THANKS FOR YOUR ATTENTION.
How do I access the Cinema3D option? I just picked one of these up and been through I think, all of the options and cannot establish how to play a movie in 3D? I have a 3D movie on a usb key, the TV acknowledges the drive and will play the movie but not in 3D, just side by side images, there's also no button on the remote but the tv has a screen logo that states LG Cinema3D??? Do I need the magic remote??
I know this video is rather old but I need a answer from someone who knows what they are doing. Please help if you can, thanks. How would I get the best picture from this TV? Is the 240hz automatically engaged or do I have to set it up for 240hz?
Answering to the someone question about how the smart control allow to change channels with a few buttons. We'll it has a button to see a remo control picture on the screen of the tv. Is a nice control don't worry about that. And it comes with the normal Control too with all the useless buttons of every normal tv control of past years of tv's. Believe me is an excellent tv with awesome features with internet. And plus convert all the 2d content to 3d. voice control. And many more features.
how do you connect the smart share app with that tv, I have exactly the same tv and Im having trouble with mine. I tried everthing. it says is was successful within wifi direct but once I try to share it through wifi direct it just says "sharing failed". I tried sharing it from my phone through the art share app and it says "there is no device, please check if its connected to the same network". And of course they are.
I have a similar model and the smart share works with a PC. I tried with a smartphone but I couldn't find the same app from LG. The Smart share works great with a PC.
Im interested in the tv but what i just cant get a handle on is the remote. It doesnt have numbers to change channels fast plus a back button to go between the last channel and the current channel. Anyone know how the remote works by changing channel?
How do I access the Cinema3D option? I just picked one of these up and been through I think, all of the options and cannot establish how to play a movie in 3D? Do I need the magic remote?? Any help is hugely appreciated.
I have this tv, the best tv for only 800 when i got it on sale at a 240Hz refresh rate and 3d smart capabilities it was a steal. I want to know though what are the best picture options standard, game and at what # for each selector????? anyone just curious
THANKS FOR YOUR QUICK ANSWER;SORRY BUT THE SO CALLED WALK THROUGH TO INITIAL THE CABLE BOX (VERIZON)WITH THE MAGIC REMOTE IS TOTALLY INCOMPREHENSIBLE AND I AM LEFT HAVING TO USE THE TWO REMOTE. WAS NOT ABLE TO GET ANY HELP FROM VERIZON SO FAR;TOTALLY INEPT PEOPLE COMING TO THE PHONE TO HELP YOU!!!!!!!!
Your English is better than my (insert foreign language here). I'm glad you like the TV. I love mine too.
Chrono is right, LED's are only used in TV's as backlighting. The image is produced with an LCD panel.

I think technically it does, however I don't notice it. I just watched a 3D movie last night and it was very crisp and sharp.
They put out some great devices.
:D I wish there was more aggressive 3D content. People consider it gimmicky but I like 3D pop outs.

interesting presentation. I just want to change my TV, LG is a very good option. Thanks for posting!
Nice!
hey if you turn on your 3D then go to settings click the tv icon then click 3d setting set to cinema

I have the same TV but my TV is 120Hz do you think it's noticeable to watch movies on a 240hz vs 120hz?
Thanks!
I know this video is rather old but I need a answer from someone who knows what they are doing. Please help if you can, thanks.
How would I get the best picture from this TV? Is the 240hz automatically engaged or do I have to set it up for 240hz?
They are all adult glasses.
This TV is 240Hz. I went through a lot of trouble to get the 240Hz option as most of them are 120Hz.
so this passive 3d tv actually sacrifices the resolution ?
Hi techHarvest....is this TV is dual core?
what's the difference between passive and agressive 3D?

The TV doesn't rotate, so it's normal :D
To clarify, only when it's in 3D mode is the resolution lowered. It's still HD though.
