Open gate can be recorded to SD cards. Only the ProRes 4k and 5.7k options need an external SSD. Great review. An incredibly complete camera in both departments. For me the best crop sensor hybrid camera on the market right now. The GH7 does improve on it a bit on the video side but some of those extras are overkill for 99% of people (like ProRes RAW)
I've said this before, but I like that the body is large. Also, it's almost the same size as the original G9, so if one is used to that, I can't imagine it would seem overly large.
The dimensions are exactly the same it's 5mm taller but also 2mm and 3mm smaller in length and width so exactly the same. Weight is also exactly the same
Congrats on the 2K subs. Glad the G9 II worked out for you. Still think the MFT mount needs a high quality small camera ideally rangefinder style body. GX9 II would be great but I don't think it's coming which is a real shame. I think we'd be more likely to get mini S9 God help us...imagine the comments section in the release videos 😅

Shooting the moon in HR mode did not worked out for me on the old G9 because the moon moved during the 4 pictures taken by the HR process. The motion blur was worse than the resolution. Is the HR Mode on the G9ii now faster or the motion is better corrected? Or did I something wrong on my G9? (or is there already a HR picture of the moon in the G9ii camera and the let us think..🤫)
I don't really use Instagram anymore since they banned the 11-year-old account I was running and making it impossible to appeal to the ban. I'll keep following you on both though :)
Define "alot" if you are praimarily video then the gh7 makes more sense.also if you are filminfingg mucht in hot loxations ththe built in fan on the gh7 isthe obvious choice.. but again; define "alot" and whatt are their reaaonsfor favoring the g7

Thank you for the review. The G9 II doesn't get much love from UA-camrs. Seems like we already have seen that with the G9.

Instagram deleted me 6 times in 4 years for no reason. I hate meta

UA-cam is a much better platform for video 📹 than it is for stills.
I just orderd gh7 as i want a gh camera but i am sure g9 is more than enough for most guys
