Neb fan here. Parra is top tier ncaa elite. One of the best players in the country, her talent is unmistakable. Those who haven't seen her are missing one of the best shows in volleyball
Neb fan too, but been a TCU fan since Parra transferred in. Around the 3rd week of the season, TCU started to set Parra like... all the time, and especially in crunch-time and must-have points. That was the start of TCU's amazing win streak, upsetting many higher-ranked teams. Then, I noticed they started balancing out the set distribution a lot more, with Gibson and Nalls -- not bad, they still won. Then Parra got injured, played injured, and then sat out several games injured. That was the start of their losing-streak, even losing to lesser teams. Now, in the final tournament, it appears that they've decided to make Parra their leading/star/go-to hitter once again. Good move. She's a pro. Has incredible VISION of the court and the block -- hardly ever gets blocked, and tools the block so efficiently, she's just so precise and sharp. Undersized hitter with tremendous talent. At the age of 16, she played on Mexico's National team -- as a power-side hitter, and she dazzled. U are correct about her. And u gotta love her quiet, modest demeanor. Sh*t, I'd marry her, lol.
I went to a UT at Austin in Austin game just to see her play and see rode the bench except to come in and play one play the entire match up. I was highly disappointed.

@@jae9245 It’s more of a general statement criticizing the transfer portal. It’s not fair to freshman or players that did not come in from the transfer portal who are put on the bench for transfers. If they knew that information coming in, they’d probably go to a different school where they can actually play. Texas and many other schools are guilty of this.
I don't like players transferring to schools within the same conference. Programs invest into that players training and then the athlete just takes that to another school.
Texas went for SIZE/HEIGHT over talent. It was almost criminal to see Parra sitting on the bench for 2 yrs. Texas coach said even said, in her freshman year, that she was the best player in the gym during practices. And yet, he turned her into a 'serving specialist'. Total waste of time for her --- a blessing she transferred to TCU and can be the shining star she was meant to be.
All this is thanks to the newly found chemistry between Parra and Nichols. The previous setter did not serve much to Melanie. Also, after the game against Hawaii, when Parra scored 27 points, teams started to put a stronger defense on her, which gave more room to Nalls and Gibson to also shine which is good for the team. Glad TCU won in this first round, but I felt sad for Filimaua at the end.
Parra llego tarde a TCU … si hubiera estado ahí todo el college…. Hubiera sido una estrella … ni modo, por algo la enterraron en Texas … pero bueno, al menos tiene un campeonato
Nope! Skinner is better than Parrar, and Texas won another national championship without Parrar. Stop whining about Texas, and be happy that Parra had more playing time at TCU.
@pkgonzela5362 do you see Skinner playing in NVL? lol, she doesn't play well at all... she is really bad... USA 🇺🇸 is Number 4 now... Parra hit that ball better.
@@NormanLuis-ch1ot Who is the most outstanding player of the tournament? Who has three national champions? Is Madi Skinner, not Parra. Oh, not fair, because Parrar did not get to play championship game? Ok, let’s do Big 12. Who led Big 12 in kills per set? Who led Big 12 in points per set? Who is Big 12 player of the year? Do I need to go on? By the way, the one in the national team is Avery Skinner, not Madi Skinner. Be happy for Parrar at TCU, and stop posting stuff that gonna make me show Madi Skinner is way better than Parrar.
@pkgonzela5362 you talk too much, and I'm not talking about NCAA d*um*b. In my opinion, Parra is better, so you stop ✋️. Internationally, Parra is way better, like it or not. Stop commenting because I don't care what you say about Parra, ok. I know more volleyball than you, bye.
@@NormanLuis-ch1ot You cannot compare & say Parra is better internationally when Madi Skinner did not participate this year. And if Parrar is so good internationally, then why no match against Madi when they are both in Big 12 this year? I like Parrar, and she is a good player. But to say Parrar is better than Madi? That tells everybody you know less than me about volleyball. Oh wait, you’re embarrassed to post your 12/19 comment here on UA-cam for everyone to see.

I’m so glad Parra is showing up and showing out! I’m really glad she’s happy!
🥰🥰🥰🥰Melanie Parra...so talented girl, she can do every corner in the court, she can serve, hit, pass, set,...Texas Team lost a Gem.
they never knew cause they let her sit on the bench
No need Melanie Parra for Texas to win national championship. Stop whining about Texas, and be happy that Melanie Parra had more playing time at TCU.
23 kills her number also 23 and is 2023 😮
Texas really lost a good one. I hate how teams are filling up with transfers rather than their own players
It really is time to move on from Texas lol. Y’all are so aggravating.
