Traffic lights made a comeback
Traffic lights are now the "I want the old patch slipways back" upgrade
"Just get more motorways" You just describe how the game works
at 17:40 the blue cars in the top right went into the red house. whaaaat? maybe they were having a party
Narrator: "We'll never know what happened, but... well, let's just forget about all those purple houses that started popping up after that fateful night."
This challenge was hard. 23:08 Btw, there’s a road that only connects ONE single gray house in the bottom right island, whereas the other gray houses have to through a T section and clogging up traffic. I’m pretty sure you wanted that road to have more cars but I think you forgot to connect them. Oh well, good job anyway!
Even though it was a brutal and bizarre map, due to double everything it ended up being really fun.
When I did this I got supremely lucky: 11 motorways, I had a yellow spawn just above the right river with a house CONNECTED to the entrance right beneath it, most of the colours spawned near destinations and, yeah. Motorways are still OP.
Only got me 8th in this video, though. Kinda bummed, cus what got me was a red circle destination that had 7 houses within a 5 road-tile distance from it (and I used a motorway on it, too, to reduce the travel time even further). Just... there's only so much you can do before the game nopes you out. :(
(( you taught me a lot about how to play this game, btw. using roads to deny or manipulate the spawns of destinations and housing zones; setting up roads to minimise the delay caused by junctions/sliproads; motorway usage; roundabouts etc. so, thanks for that :D ))
I thought I was going infinite with double digit motorways too!
I messed up tinkering with something to try to optimise it to make it perfect but without enough late game precaution.
Kicked myself as a few hundred point more was enough to make top ten on global board

use more traffic lights they allow cars speed through crossing
Seems the game updated logic shows that *there should be no multiple intersection before and after the highway
*No intersection near or close to buildings
*Traffic light should be placed on every main intersection.
*No multiple intersection on the houses, just what you did on the white and blue houses that they did not slow.
*Segregate different colors and the same color, just what happened in white in the late game.
Its satisfying to watch and addictive to beat that high score. Nice game
I managed a 2945 on this bad boy. Had up to 12 motorways. Reds and Whites got me too

I'd like to see you actually using traffic lights, at points you had 4 just sitting and lots of places they could have made things faster
There's a big tradeoff with traffic lights still - you're effectively slowing down a stream of traffic at the cost of others. Left-turns t-junctions are still very much a detriment with traffic lights, outside of high-volume intersections (at which point you should just use a roundabout). Getting twice as many lights let me play around with them a lot, but I still see them as a weaker version of many other rewards... very simlar to how they are a "solution" in real life, but other better solutions exist (slipways, merge lanes, roundabouts, high-efficiency lanes, loopback structures, etc.)

Yup! It's a really rough one. The starting red being a circle plus the mega spawn of white circles around week 9 is a recipe for low scores
@@Retroflux rough! The game was really evil at the start by giving you a blue and white neighborhood and still blocking the expansion at the bottom. Loved the BOGO part but man it doesn't get easy 😅😅😅
Oh yeah, though I knew that was the behaviour of Beijing (even in the normal map, that's the behaviour of the map), so at least I could be semi-prepared! It was rough, either way!

Yep, I was not lucky enough to get 10 or 12 like some people! Might be worth giving it another go nearer to the end of the week to see if I can score top 10. :)
What´s the purpose of this game?
Traffic management: connect like-coloured houses to businesses so that they can complete their journeys. If too many trips pile up, a timer starts that will end the game if you can't clear the remaining trips off the destination point.
No context? No information on what the challenge? Didnt include the game where you got first on the leaderboard? What? Why?
The challenges are in the thumbnail image: i) some structures are always circles when they spawn, ii) no bridges to start, and iii) double tiles and rewards at end of week. Not sure what you mean by no context, the title, thumbnail, and commentary are context enough, no?
I didn't include the game where I got first because it is a lower score than the one that I actually showcased. It was only first because I started that run at 5PM PST, when the challenge opened. It was quickly beat thereafter, so it's not a "first place" game. The only reason why I showed the three initial attempts was to preface that this is a VERY hard challenge week, so a bit of failure shown made sense.
@Retroflux by context I mean for the challenge, like what the challenge was. The text in the title is difficult to read on mobile, and I'm using a 10 inch tablet.
I've been watching you for about a week and of the videos I remember there's been some short of intro, so starting straight into a game was a bit confusing, as if I had accidentally skipped ahead.
