The US is NOT what it used to be. I have been here since the late 1970's and it was a different world. There was a great deal of opportunity if one was willing to work and learn the ropes. There is far less opportunity now and a lot of the cities look like 3rd world countries now. Sadly. I'm not saying that one cannot achieve one's goals, but it is that much more difficult. A minimum wage job will not make ends meet. I signed up for the US Army within 2 years of coming to the US. I was 19 at the time and that was the best decision I ever made as I got to learn the culture very quickly and effectively. Some advice: Teach your children proper ethics and about Islam. Do not become victims of hedonism-consumerism. Time and health are the two most valuable asset you have. Use them wisely. I know of too many very wealthy folks who ruined their time/family/health "making money" only to die of a cardiac/cancer/or some other mishap.
