Andy jr will look back in 50 yrs and thank god for all the videos he has to view with his kids and tell them thats your grand dad and this is the way i spent my day with him. And i can honestly say i would give ten thousand days just to spend one day more with my dad as i did at andy jr age . He had a construction company and i was trained to run things at a early age just like your doing with andy jr. God bless and stay safe in all you guys do.
Carlinville ILL is on 30 miles from me , my dad to ad used to do business with Sloans back in the day glad to see you do business with them they are nice people
Just ran across your channel watching Millennial Farmer. Nice to see Upstate NY dairy farms. Grew up in Skaneateles area and worked on a couple of farms in Sennett. when in high school, one beef and one Dairy. ( back in the late 70s early 80s) I live in Oklahoma now and have help a couple of different farmers/rancher here. ( farmers have cows, rancher don't ) It still confuses me LOL. I cannot amazing the work to milk that many head a day. 100 , 2 x a day was bad (with a dump station) times have changed.
I was on a wd45. I ran the neighbors b John Deere raking hay and hated it. To start it you had to spin the fly wheel and then had to contend with the hand clutch. Brakes on that thing well there wasn't any.
@@oldfarmer4700 When being too small to reach the foot clutch, then the hand clutch was a "life" saver.. or would have had to wait until a bit older. Same with the brakes (never had one that the brakes were not maintained and good), when small at 9 yr old, could stand on the deck, and step (stand) on the brakes.. easy to do. But starting the Deere with the flywheel was a man builder.. The old A was used daily through the winter to spread manure (pitched on by hand one fork full at a time), and starting at negative 25F would build up a little body heat. The good old days..
That's a great tractor! Sloan Hamel, IL is our dealer but have been to the Carlinville location many times. My brother-in-law thinks he knows the farm this tractor came from and thinks that it was well taken care of. Keep the great videos coming.
Boy looks like Jr is pleased with that tractor. He can do some tillage and planting now. That machine is perfect for a newer operator with the ivt trans. I started out on a alischalmers wd45 at 8 years old and then a alischalmers 200 diesel with cab. Now we run johndeere and we have one case 340 magnum. Jr reminds me of myself when I was young. He will be a great farmer keep grooming Jr. Stay safe and healthy keep up the good work Jr.
I was born and raised on a grain and livestock farm 30 miles south of Carlinville Illinois. My second cousin now owns and runs the family farm corporation in Bunker Hill Illinois. I now live in Erie Pennsylvania where I am retired. I enjoy your videos very much. Keep up the good work.
She looks like new off the show room floor. Lol I enjoy watching Jr. Run equipment, looks like he had a great teacher. My dad stopped farming in 1972, and I was heat broke. With that being said , this shop rat sure looks forward to your videos. Stay healthy my friends.
Good vids as usual. The family farm setup you have there is massive. I just watched the one you did with the zak Johnson (MF) when you both walked in front of the dairy unit & milk silo. It looks so impressive. Keep up the good vids. Have a Happy Easter, regards from England / UK

At that age I drove a BM Victor.
Google it, if you don't know what it is.
