    I have played guitar, mostly jazz guitar, for "many" years. I have recently become interested in classical guitar and want to develop good technique from the beginning. Thank you so much for your advice. It all makes perfect sense to me!

    I’m sure you’ve heard this before ... my fingers are too short that I’ll never be able to reach the span that you do. I’ll take your advice and use some creative solutions to make up for this shortfall. Thank you so much. I can’t afford to pay an instructor and you are helping me through learning the basics and developing a sound technique before playing ever more complex repertoire.

    You have helped to make my decision between starting with steel string guitar or a classical guitar. I’ve played accordion for many years and have decided to play guitar and will do so with a classical guitar playing classical music.

    I can't convince my family to get me a teacher, and I'm so invested in learning ing, they say I could watch UA-cam vids and learn which maybe it's true, but I'll never know what I'm doing wrong, what I could better, the next piece to play.

    What's a good way and , book, to learn the names of the notes on the whole fretboard? UA-cam has a bunch mostly; learn the fretboard in 10 minutes...I I know that doesn't work. At least for me. I know it'll take work. I'd appreciate your info as you're an excellent teacher. Thank you!

    Thank you, your videos are always helpful. One question if I may: is it ok to swap nylon guitars? For instance, I have an old artist guitar that I enjoy playing and it's low action which i particularly like. However, I've bought a Cordoba C5 and the action is high and it's louder so I avoid playing it. Should I adjust the action and force myself to play cordoba or just continue playing with the guitar I am used to? Thanks again for your videos, I've been following you for a few years now and its a joy viewing and learning.

    • @Thisisclassicalguitar
      @Thisisclassicalguitar  3 роки тому +1

      Tough to say, I mean play whichever you feel is better for you. Pros need high action because they tend to dig in harder than the average student so it just ends up being high, but I alway have a luthier adjust it as low as it won't buzz when I play loud.

    Hi Bradford I have a new student and she is lefty handed. She was advise to change the location of strings. However I am not sure this is necessary because she tun the guitar anyway! What do you suggest?

    • @Thisisclassicalguitar
      @Thisisclassicalguitar  7 років тому +1

      Not sure. They do make specific left-handed guitars so I bet that is the way to go. I have heard that many left-handers simply play the same way and adapt. Anyone else know?
