Good job. Sometimes waiting will be your job. That's why they make father's waiting rooms. I know it's your baby but - dang waiting sucks !! It's like you just loaded a new pill for testing and it's raining out - dang ! We are all excited for you Erik ☺️
So excited watching this all come together! Bummer for you that you couldn't make parts! I'm a bit sad on your behalf, but don't worry about us, we have our own lives and projects to keep busy with. I'm hand loading arrows for this hunting season. Precision all around!
You underestimate how much you have taken on by yourself! You are trying to learn programming and how to operate a very complex machine at the same time plus it's your loss if you crash. I have utmost respect for someone that can accomplish that!
I know it's kind of dragging you down but don't let it get to you. Every experience I have ever had with setting up new equipment has gone the way this has for you. There's always something holding you back. Its always takes longer than you think it will. Just hang in there.
A lot of hard work..Don't worry you have done the best you can under certain Circumstances that you can't control..Its like a puzzle piece by piece..It will happen you have spent a lot of hard earned money on this great project before you know it you will be making chips and who knows what else your dreaming of.Your just about there.buddy.
i guess i can tell you a saw a cnc machine really 2 one made a ford racing cylinder head out a chunk of alumin & the other one was a gun smith making part for browning 1919 30 cal machine gun it might have been working he fixed my savage barrel!
Hi Erick'keep up the good work.i watch you on u tube and what you do n say makes alot of sense.cant wait to see what you have for 2020 for us to see.from Pat in Ireland.gives a mention hello sometime on ur channel n dont forget like u say keep them centred.thanks.
Just a few timing issues, but those things you had no control over. It’s frustrating because it’s already a heavy load. But, you know, just do what you can do. I’m with you in acknowledging it’s a big challenge. You are looking at a whole new world. A very complex world. They probably told you that once everything is all set up, you are just an operator. That’s much simpler than programming! I hope they focus on just the operator and owner’s jobs for now because the rest can wait. As it is, you’ll still have the operator and owner’s roles. That’s lots. This part is like a big lump in the effort graph, but it will settle back down or it means you’re selling too much. Anyway, you know I’m cheering for you.
I think it's going faster than you thought it would be. You have a lot on your mind and a lot of things going on at the same time. One thing for sure while you are setting up the shop I think I would move that air compressor away from the building in it's own little building with sound proof walls. Those things can hurt you hearing plus you're going to put a lathe on that side of the shop. Something to think about. You'll have a great machine shop.
Once you have worked in automation, there is no way you count on a schedule. At least the tech was on the ball. Looks like more of a utility disappointment. It will all be forgotten after the first run.
@@CCW1911 I am shore it had work with just a extention cord. The big generator can make the spec, of power the compressor need to run. I gues he did not think about it. He have alot going in his head... 😎👍 /J

Very frustrating. I think if it snows instead you'll be good with a open ditch. I need just a site to order and still haven't figured out where it is. A little help please.

The suspense is killing me man . Never mind we’ll all be back for day 3 when the chips are flying 😀 for sure and certain . If they’re not the dog 🐕 better not get too close to Erik or it might cope a size 11 boot .
Get to work youngster ) Show programming the laser etcher to add serial numbers or more divisions of hash marks for tuning. Adding Made In Texas to your tuners and Brakes? Optional name, rifle blah blah state flag. You know go nuts the stuff you can't do shooting comp :)
He's trying to learn a complex specialty Good requires lots of similar experience, and with new equipment he's never used and doesn't even know all the parts of. Meanwhile he's dealing with power and construction so on. This is too much for one person. It's the opposite environment for learning. For learning this complex and difficult unfamiliar trade, you got to sit down and think and learn a bit at a time. Then move on to the next thing. "We're going to build a part today" is I completely unrealistic objective.
Eric. Keep the first part you make for a keepsake.
Gold plate it.
Display case it.
SEND IT TO ME
Your lathe journey is really entertaining to watch. I love expensive tools and your enthusiasm.

Erik, I just started running the same machine so keep the videos coming! I'm learning too. thanks
GOOD THINGS COME TO THOSE WHO WAIT !! You are in for -- A LOT OF GOOD THINGS Eric ! Keep the faith and you will get there .
"It's going to be amazing!"
Deep breathing, no apology necessary, you cannot control Mother Nature or the power company.
You are well on your way to a great success- you have worked hard for what you have and deserve it
Your almost there brother.
Fun stuff Eric... that is one cool state-of-the-art lathe you have there. " Safety First" have fun :-)

I think it is good for him to slow down a bit. As it is now he have to, and take one step at the time.
Breath Eric bread...!
Ok new EC drinking game! Every time he says "chips". BRING ON THE PAIN!!!

Erik i think you need rings around the item to stop Harmonic sound frequency that'll resonate in the item you are making...

Can’t you run a cord from the generator to the compressor?
I was thinking surely he has a small generator he could hook up to the compressor.

Lmao,, with all of this waiting, you better save and frame that first “chip”!
Wish the shop I work for was in texas
If you want to fly me down there I’ll dig that ditch for you this weekend bud. Lol. It’s what I do.
Take a deep breath, good things slow................
You're so twitchy and nervous, I can't understand how you can be such a good rifle marksman.
Boom that just happened. Love it haha
I would have to video everything he says so I could go back and review.
Maaan I think I’m more excited to see this run than you are at this point 😂😂
Man I hope training time is waiting till you have power.......that would really suck to waste the training days waiting for power.
Typically they don't care what happens. If you paid for 3 days and one of those the power is out, you eat it and have 2 days now.
Very frustrating. I think if it snows instead you'll be good with a open ditch. I need just a site to order and still haven't figured out where it is. A little help please.
It will happen....chin up!
If I order one right about what turn around time. Close don't have to be exukley
I'm sorry you wasn't able to make chips fly yet Erik. You'll have chips flying before too long bud!
Boom!
I'm way to OCD to do things last minute and not be prepared. I wouldn't be able to take in all the valuable instruction from the instructor.

No other generator to run the compressor?
I know the frustration...
You need a second generator.
How you touch off the 20 degree angle tool on the probe? Or do you have to to manually input the G54 x and z offsets?
The suspense is killing me man . Never mind we’ll all be back for day 3 when the chips are flying 😀 for sure and certain . If they’re not the dog 🐕 better not get too close to Erik or it might cope a size 11 boot .
Too bad you didn't have a generator to run the air compressor ;)
I am shore he cold connect to the big generator. Gues he Just did not think about it when the electrichen guy were ther.
Where’s the CHiPS!! LOL
Hope you don't have to move the machine any time soon.
The struggles of life. Take it with a grain of salt. God bless. At least you will not have to rent the generator as long. Bright side lol.
What coolant? 8% brix or actual?
Did you create the G-code from a model or write the code manually?

You need a new camera. I got a headache watching this. Way too much jitter.
