For the raccoons you will either need to take the food in, or your going to need to get the cats a new door that has a sensor that you put on their collar that will make the door open. Make sure you get them break away collars and put a gps on it so you don't lose your cat door sensor.
You don’t have to get one where the cat has a sensor there is a cat door apparatus that works with the microchip that pets have placed if you adopt them from a shelter etc. literally my cats walk in and no other cats or raccoons can come through or possums
I also had to install a new cat door at one time when the neighborhood cats would come in. I bought a magnetic collar and door that worked great. Good luck and thanks for sharing!

As for the feathers, that might be your cats too. We have a feather comforter on our bed and have noticed recently that little feathers are starting to come out of it. Then we noticed our cats pawing at the comforter and their claws were making teeny tiny holes for the feathers to come out. Since your cats come in during the day and sleep on your couches, they are probably pawing your couches and making little holes too.
I’ve already watched this video before but decided to put it on while I deep cleaned my kitchen always makes me feel like I have company when I watch your videos bc you actually do voice overs witch I love.
We always used the metal trash cans with lids for our horse food and dog food..it worked great! We did bungee cord the lids on. Do recommend putting the food bowls in cans at night and just feed the cats during the day, because they will keep coming for the food left in the bowls! Good luck with the racoons! 🤟🏼
They make cat/doggy doors that only open for the chips registered with it! You can do one off of microchips they have under their skin already or a chip they wear on their collar. You can do one door with multiple chips

Oh I got the scrub mommy for the first time recently and I love it! The 2 sides are great. I have to hand wash all if my dishes right now and I love the scrub mommy for that.
For the raccoons sometimes motion sensor lights outside of the garage will run them off. We've had issues and getting motion light helped keep them out of the trash. 😅
I would just suggest putting the food in a lock tight container than the raccoons can't get into. The idea that someone had about the collars with sensors is great too! Love the cleaning motivation!

I would say just a box with snap locks BUT raccoons can open those. And open like, coolers that have zippers . So you would need something that actually locks & then unlocks with a key.
One of my neighbors had a raccoon in their attic, and they put a speaker up there and played loud-ish music and eventually it left. I remembered when you mentioned your speaker in front of the door! Put it to use! Worth a shot :)

Racoon party in the block! Don’t forget they have a strong sense of smell. Get an airtight container and bring it in. They will leave after a while if there is no food around. I’m in the uk, but we can get a lockable cat door, so your cat has a collar with a sensor on it , so only your cat can be let in through the cat door and it automatically locks behind them hope this helps!❤

I just ordered scrub daddies and mommies from the scrub daddy site. I cant remember whether i saw it on the site or my packaging but its says they can last like 3 months and you disinfect and clean them in your dishwasher, so you dont have to throw them away as soon as they get dirty anymore. I dont have a dishwasher but im thinking that throwing them in a mesh laundry bag putting them in with my microfiber cloths and the fluffy part of my grove duster, which by the way has completely replaced swiffer dusters for us. Even my daughter likes it better. I just wash it in the washer and in a mesh laundry bag and then i let it air dry over night.
Love that sponge organizer!!! Def inspiring me over here because I need to tackle organizing under my kitchen sink🫢 I also love morning walks!!! It makes such a huge difference in my day as a sahm. I need to be more disciplined and make myself do it more!! Also random, how long have you been using the detergent pods?? Do you like them? We just use regular liquid detergent but that seems so much easier and like less mess!

Magnetic collars is what we ended up going with for our animals. The dog door doesn't open unless the animal with the Magnetic collar is trying to come in they are awesome. Our dogs can go in and out anytime but no other animals can access the door.
You could put some sensers out out side the garage so when the racoons come up it will turn on bright they will runaway that could work try that it's just a idea we use to see alot of racoons when I lived in Florida years and years ago. A long time ago . But not here in Arizona I have not seen any at all. Or you could just let the cats stay inside the house instead of them being outside try that thru might like that . You could get one of those cat feeders that has scheduled feeding times. A motion activated light for the driveway. Irish spring soap cut up in cubes .. rodents hate the smell of this soap haha
Amy, the only thing I can tell you is you can get some of the plastic owls and stick in there. They're kind of scared of them. Or you can't have to get a really big plastic band and put the cat food, and maybe they'll go away.❤
My cats have a cat door that is only activated when they walk up to it with a collar that activates the door so no other animals can come through it except the ones that have the collar, it’s also activated with my cats microchip so she doesn’t even need a collar, our other cat has the collar but both work to open the door
I have heard about cat or dog doors that are electronic controlled. You place something on their collar that triggers the door to unlock so they can get access and other animals can’t get in. Maybe that will work for you guys.
My sister is an artist too and she doesn't like the soap either. I wonder if you took the bar and scrubbed it good on the large matte if it would have a better effect.
You should try the Gamma brand of pet food containers. I swear by them. The seal is air tight. You won’t smell the food and it keeps the food you bought fresh for your cats. In California we don’t have to worry about raccoons but we will get ants. Once I bought the Gamma pet food containers, the ants just left.
The collar sensors that work with the cat door is a good idea but the raccoons see it as a food source. Even though it’s a big sack of cat food, could you put it in a large plastic, airtight dog food container from Petsmart or two smaller ones. Then the raccoons can only get to the bowls of cat food, which might still be enticing but maybe they’ll lose interest. Good luck.

I know it could be a pain but maybe change the cat door to an automatic cat door with Cat collars so they can unlock the door so they can get back in. Amazon sells them so does Chewy

I know it could be a pain but maybe change the cat door to an automatic cat door with Cat collars so they can unlock the door so they can get back in. Amazon sells them so does Chewy
