Thanks for putting good information out there. There's also another issue with heat in the coop. It doesn't allow their bodies to adapt to the cold as well. When they come out of the coop they have to adjust to a much bigger change in temp. I'm glad you didn't have one of those disasters with the heat lamp. Animals are adapted to the temps a lot better than some people give them credit for. Have a great week!

Mine are in a tarped run for now. we have about 2 inches of snow and a small blizz right now. When it stops snowing I am going to let them in the large run So far it only has a little snow in the small run the tarps did their job.

Mine won't eat 🌽 corn. I have a cage heat lamp keeps their water from freezing. My cages are 8 to 9' high. Never have a problem with the lamps.

What about the cold inhibiting productivity?

I address egg production during the winter months in my next video. It will be out tomorrow. However its not the cold that slows egg production.

The heat lamp is not the problem. Its people who use them irresponsiblly. Ive used heat lamps for over 50 years. Literally 100's of them and never had a problem. Frost bite is most concerning. Judging your chickens comfort and health on whether they die or not. No egg production loss comfortable healthy chickens are quite different than just surviving.
