As someone who was raised in a Classical school, I appreciate you laying out these differences! The two biggest areas where I'm hoping to change things for my children are focusing on ideas over facts, and focusing on writing voice versus following a formula. Helpful distinctions indeed!
So glad that you have found this episode helpful in identifying areas that you would like to change in your approach to homeschooling your own children.
This was such a great explanation. Thank you so much. I am trying to learn more about Charlotte Mason approach for my high schooler next year. Now i realized we have been doing classical with some Charlotte Mason flare. But I want to fully do Charlotte Mason because I think it is what it has been missing in our homeschool, feeding tje whole of my child not just his brain. I hope I am not too late to adopt this approach.
Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback, so glad that you found this episode helpful. It is never too late to start incorporating more of Charlotte Mason's methods int homeschool. We can even implement these principles into our lives as adults in how we approach learning new information and overall into our daily life. Here is a helpful post specific to the idea of implementing Charlotte Mason's methods with an older student. Come back with any questions that you have along the way. simplycharlottemason.com/blog/too-late-to-start-charlotte-mason/
