    Almost 40 minutes-you must be kidding? Was my first thought,but here I am and I must admit that it was 40 really good and very informative 40 minutes I ever spent here on UA-cam with this kind of videos. Thanks dude-you’re very good narrator!

    Loved your first video on the Tikka. It made up my mind on buying it. Got it a few days later. Love shooting it. Thanks. Hope to see a 5000 round review. More videos. Congratulations with your personal life.

    I wonder how the TAC medium profile barrel compares to a Supervarmint with a heavier profile barrel for 5 shot groups.

    • @amorphousgear2085
      @amorphousgear2085  19 днів тому

      @@jimjones9239 I would say it depends on your firing schedule. You can expect very similar or likely identical accuracy out of both. The trick is the heavier the gun, the easier it is to stay on target consistently because your movements require more weight to pull the gun off target. That’s why heavier barrels for long range precision make sense, and heat dissipation of course. If you plan to hunt with it and move around regularly, then a lighter profile barrel makes great sense. If you are mostly sitting at a bench and sending a couple hundred rounds per session, the heavier barrel will hold its accuracy longer into your round count by dissipating heat faster and adding rigidity (changing the harmonics typically for the better). Sorry that was long winded…

      Magpul MIAD. I like it because it has inserts you can store things in.

    Thanks for the update. What is the other thing you have bolted to the bottom of the handguard behind the short section of picatinny rail?

      I forgot to cover that! That’s the Magpul RC2 tripod adapter. It allows it to click right into a manfrotto RC2 head. The ARCA rail is the more popular solution but more money. magpul.com/m-lok-tripod-adapter.html

    Love mine chambered in 6.5 CM. Loading 140 ELDM behind 42.3 gr H4350 with Lapua brass. Shooting sub-half MOA with 25 hot zero. This thing is a tac driver.

    21:09 Same here. I had a Bergara B-14 HMR. They seemed to have a good reputation and I thought I sucked because the best I could shoot was about 1.2 MOA on average for 5-shot groups with the best handload I could work up for the rifle. With the factory ammo Bergara recommended I was getting ~1.5 MOA 5-shot groups.
    I got a Tikka CTR and on my first range session I couldn't believe the difference. I averaged under 0.5 MOA for 6 5-shot groups (30 shots total) with the first random load I tried in the gun. My Bergara made me think I sucked at shooting. It turns out the gun was a turd. BTW, I sent it back to Bergara twice to get it fixed. They never fixed it and the 2nd time they sent it back there was rust all over the bolt and inside the barrel. I asked for a refund since they damaged the gun but they accused me of lying and wouldn't respond to any of my e-mails/communications anymore. Anyway, I sold that piece of junk.

    As a lefty looking for a good gun with a reasonable price, the T3x TAC A1 still seems like the best option. I would love a SAKO TRG (which you can get a used one a bit cheaper than a new T3x TAC A1 here in Finland at the moment), but I'm repelled by the fact that the action comes only as right-handed.

    Gun stores where I live are still recommending the Tikka T3X TAC A1 package as being not only great value but a superb rifle. I just purchased one.

    "This gun always leaves me smiling" Yep, that's how I feel about mine. In fact when I go to the range I always shoot it last because I always leave the range with a smile as with good ammo it always shoots 1/2moa ish.

    You are not seeing a 2 MOA target at 200 yards with your naked eye unless it contrasts against the background it's impressive for a new shooter to hit that on the first shot for sure.

      I got the tikka upr, which is this exact gun, but with a stock instead of a chassis. It's lighter weight for hunting and I can also use it for competition. Can't go wrong with either of them. Shot a .25" group at 100 with berger 130gr hybrids. Good luck.

      It comes with a 24" barrel for .308...check over at EuroOptic, I bought a demo model for a couple hundred dollars off. I can't tell that mine was ever fired, and it certainly not scratched. With my hand loads, this thing shoots sub-moa out to 1000yds. I have around 1100 rds on the factory barrel.
