This made me reflect on how my Nigerian friends reacted to the video. My Black American friends found it funny, my Nigerian friend's enjoy Druski's content. Honestly, I see this video as more of a humorous take on a stereotype, similar to King Bach's early Vine days. Those kinds of videos haven't had a severely negative impact on the Black community, and I don't think this one will either. Ultimately, it doesn't matter too much-life is short!
Man, this has nothing to do with “black community”. This is Nigeria, we are Africans who don’t use the term “ black”. When we try to navigate the world, we are hardly trusted. That skit promotes that notion, even though we know there are lots of scammers around here, but not all of us venture into things like that.
@@victoraghaebita2090 As an ethnic Black American I totally agree with there is no “Flat blackness” or unified Black Community. However, everyone has stereotypes. Ethnic Black Americans have thick skin we laugh at stereotypes even though there is some truth although over inflated and everybody loves talking bad about us but fleeing to our borders trying to come into our community and spaces all the awhile trying to be like us. 3:15 Yes but not exactly leslie , i think its the fact thats druski isnt Nigerian either. But the thing about this is that , nigerian or not , it really isnt funny to make jokes about this thing because it only worsenes people's persepectives on us Nigerians. Its really not easy to open your mouth and say you are nigerian if you take out the afrobeats ,nollywood and all of the jollof wars nonsense because a lot of guilt comes with being Nigerians. If we really face the truth , we are faced with a lot of prejudice and hate from even our fellow Africans. And its very painful to see content lik e this especially when Druski has an audience of foreign people. But regardless , you did great as always in presenting your information leslie. keep it up ❤.
