My favorite Sega CD game. I grabbed this at Toys R us for $14.99 when they were trying to get rid of all of the Sega CD/32x stuff to make way for 32-bit stuff. Crazy the prices it gets now. When i first played this game the first thing i did was reverse Random's name because of how it sounded. Always thought this was the ultimate spurned love story. Also i remember calling the video phone number that was on the video board in the city shot and read that long message from the developer. One of the best hidden messages ever, long before kojima started doing the codec stuff. EDIT: Also remember they were going to use Nukes and Metal Gear exists in this world along with all those konami characters. So Solid Snake existed too. QOTD, probably Metal Gear Solid. Actually bought the japanese import of it and played through it before the american version and still regularly play through it.
Thank you for your kind words, they really mean a lot. This was a longer episode that took quite a while to put together, so it feels good knowing that it was appreciated.
Hey, every UA-camr does something special for their 100th episode, so I don't blame you for having a long one here. However, guess I wasn't the only one who kept thinking of Metal Gear Solid during this. And in answer to the question, mainly because MGS is the one I'm most familiar with, may have to answer that by default. Anyways, thank you.
Oh yeah, Snatcher definitely lives in the Metal Gear Solid universe. Between references to Outer Heaven, Fox Hound and even the Mk. II showing up in Metal Gear Solid 4, it's hard not to think of Kojima's later works while playing through Snatcher.
Yes! AND the remake should be 3D cel-shaded (like the Arcsys art style/Trigun Stampede), playable SDatcher, Act 4, among others! Also cameos from Netflix Castlevania and Nocturne, Silent Hill, etc.!
It was a reference to Napoleon, a character that helps Gillian throughout his time as a Junker. It’s essentially hinted that Napoleon is there saying good bye with the rest of the girls.
@@DefunctGames In the Saturn version, there's extra animation of Random (who's basically the bad guy from the 80's version of Dune) blasting Gillian's turbo-cycle door off with a lever action shotgun he's carrying with him on his motorcycle, so definitely some Terminator references along with all the other 80's/90's movie homage's thrown in too.

Great ep!!! Thanks for the upload! I always appreciate your ‘Game Over’s’
Glad I still have my copy.
Me too. I can't believe how expensive it is these days.
This video is absolutely phenomenal. Thank you, wholeheartedly, for putting this together.

Thank you for this video. It really couldn't have been better! Much appreciated
This game needs a sequel. Kojima actually wrote a radio drama based on Snatcher.
Sdatcher!
Great game. Play it at least once per year
Fun video, thanks for making. Love this game. It's Jamie Seed btw, not Jackie (18:10). :)
Good catch and a needed correction. With a story this big (and a video this long) I'm bound to make a couple mistakes.
Great content!
This was a great video
Thank you for the kind words. This one took a long time to put together, so I'm happy that people are still discovering it.
I ran into an Audio issue after the Factory investigation there's no audio. I hope I can Fix it.
I hope Kojima owns the rights to Snatcher, needs a remake

With all the trans humanism Going around I’m glad to have this game to help with managing my urges to terminate our cybernetic overlords.
what was that sneeze reference Metal Gear Sega CD tried to hide in the ending script?

while Snatcher was enjoyable, with that Blade Runner/Terminator esk feel, imo Policenauts was way better. love this track btw 55:47
if you’re wondering, it’s called Jamie’s Theme.
Is it weird I want Roanoke Gaming do a Lucifer Alpha viral breakdown?
...Dude, that's kinda the story of Fallout 4
so its blade runner..........
Yeah. Blade Runner meets Invasion of the Body Snatchers.

Its like u got lazy in the second half
Didn't feel lazy when I was working on it.

I mean the last chunk of the game is literally just exposition
