  • Stian Angermund world class trail runner and vertical specialist (and average skier😁), wants to challenge himself in the ski mountaineering World Cup against the very best skimo athletes. Sounds easy?
With support from world class trail runner Rémi Bonnet, Stian tries to make it into the World Cup and see how hard ski mountaineering really is. Follow the progress and the outcome as Stian tries to learn the difference between ski mountaineering and trail running. Will he get hooked to only go ski touring from now on?

ATOMIC WAS BORN IN THE AUSTRIAN ALPS.
MORE THAN 60 YEARS ON WE’RE STILL HERE.
Since 1955, the equipment we’ve made in Altenmarkt has taken skiers to the top of every ski podium, further in the backcountry, smoother down the piste, higher in the half pipe and longer on the cross-country track.
The secret to our success? The know-how and passion of our employees and athletes. Skiing’s in our blood. It doesn’t just shape how we design and deliver our products. It inspires and defines us.
It always has and always will.

I race skimo, Nordic skiing and trail racing. if you are serious about skimo racing, you *must* get coaching on good technique. you cannot be competitive at the elite level with an exceptional aerobic engine but only 90% good technique. the last 10% of technique is the difference between 1st and last. you have the engine, now learn how the elites ski....eg . you must transfer weight and glide, etc. but learning the technique is easier than having to build an aerobic engine

I wish there were resources available for non-sponsored trail runners to learn ski mountaineering.
There's literally nothing out there for trail runners who want to learn this.
Only info for skiing downhill in resorts.

Do NOT buy atomic skis, specifically the atomic bents. They’re pieces of shit that will break if they hit anything. Terrible ski and even worse customer service and support. Do yourself a favor and actually buy a good pair of skis. Will never buy from atomic ever again. Terrible company.
