Am I the only person who watched this completely through before commenting? Lol. Anyways, this coaster does look nuts and bonkers and weird and all that stuff. On top of it, FUN! Which is saying a lot because it’s not a TOGO in Japan and isn’t a knockoff. BIG BOOM all day
The tool you need to measure the angle of the first drop accurately is called a hand held in inclimeter . It is a device that uses gravity to reveal the angle of whatever it is that you want to measure regardless of the size or scale as long as it’s big. Have fun :-)
Part of the ride's strange layout may be due to the fact that it was originally a Meisho Amusement Machines Loop the Loop model at it's core. The RCDB proposed theory states that the station and modified lift hill are in the same place as they were with the original ride, however the loop was moved. This is also likely why the trains have such strange restraints as well, meaning that the trains possibly date to even older than Big Boom, we don't have an opening date listed for the ride (or even a name), but given that the earliest one of this model opened in 1979, that train could be even older. So the reason that the ride's layout is so strange might be because it was made from a different coaster, it would easily explain the janky turns in the ending as seen at 6:36-6:40, as that looks like more than just old Japanese made coaster jank.
According to the ride's manufacturer, this particular model has a "75БЛ drop over the top sends you to the most terrifying travel," (Gotta love Engrish) but I'm not sure what they mean by a "75БЛ drop," could this be the angle of the drop; 75°?
I recently saw a video saying that Big Boom was actually a converted looping shuttle coaster first by Miesho and was in fact converted by Miesho themselves later on in the coasters life cycle... just wow!! amazing stuff 😮
Think it’s like an 70-80 degree drop. Very hard to find, but it did have the record back when it opened! Slower lift maybe it can last longer and cost less money? Track looks in great condition still! Does this ride even have a second train lol. Looks like it’s in a tight space so the layout isn’t longer.
the chain is probably so slow because it's an old coaster and they want to minimize wear and tear since usually spareparts for old rides are hard to come by
I think the slow lifts and single train ops buy them enough time to send out a somewhat full train vs an almost empty train everytime. Most of these parks are empty most of the time and sending out constant empty trains is not very cost effective or efficient. That's my theory.
The sides of the trains have patterned metal bars on them. When they interact with the tires, the pattern causes friction witch helps slow the train down. This is actually a smooth way of stopping the train rather then using pinch brakes.
But surely they're less efficient and costs more since you'll be burning through those wheels and brake rotors and calipers faster, and there is more moving parts to worry about
i think the slow chain is because the train might be very heavy, which wears out the motor quickly. And i'm guessing they havent changed the trains or the motor in a long time or at all.
I'd say this would be the best first drop in Japan if Eejanaika didn't exist. I never been on eejanaika but since it's the exact same as X2's, eejanaika's is so much better and so much more ridiculous. Also to make this even weirder, this is a conversion from a Meisho shuttle loop! Yes, they added extra track onto a shuttle coaster to make it complete!
Is it possible to use those drive tyres as a method of regenerative braking, convert all that kinetic energy back into electrical energy like some modern electric cars do?
Not asking for one right now, but when will you make an updated Top 25 coasters? I can imagine that you would only add Hakugei to the list, so I don’t think you would make one of those videos anytime soon.
N0VA24 • I will make one eventually, but it will still be a bit. I have 2 more japan coaster reviews left I am going to do before I release my Top 15 coasters in Japan. After that will be the Top 25.
Coaster Studios Sorry, I have another question. So.. I am going to BGT during my spring break (hopefully Iron Gwazi will be open) in the beginning of April, and also BGW the weekend Pantheon opens. Is there a possibility that I could see you at either park?
You should see this camel coaster video by Ricky from Max Thrills (a Japanese enthusiast whose home park is Nasu Highland ua-cam.com/video/5uISQOyXuaA/v-deo.html
StamfordBridge do not go in July I am a local and I can tell u that with the gold pass it will be the busiest time of the year go either early may when there is still school or go late August when school starts those will be the slowest time
I watched this video while going up the lift hill
Haha
I feel asleep well going up diamonds back somehow got to the top woke up passed out again and died jk lol 😂
Drew Barnett which coaster?
@@coasterhockygamingboy9549 Big Boom cuz the lift takes like 2 minutes.
How are you even allowed to take ur phone on the lift hill
I think the slow chain is due to Japan being earthquake prone
that is correct good sir
Not very familiar with this, can you explain how the chain speed and earthquakes correspond? I don’t really learn about Japanese coasters

He’ll yeah this ride deserves a review!! Seems pretty old. Steepest coaster when it opened?
It's possible! I could see it...no way to know for sure though
Coaster Studios how tall is that loop btw? It’s hauling through it
@@Brandon-qd2lb it is a Arrow Looper ?
It’s a Meisho
Mystic fanboy no. It’s a Asian manufacturer hat made this. They were trying to copy arrows track desighn though

I remember watching a TPR video on this years ago. I’ve always wanted to ride it ever since

I wouldn’t be surprised. I think 75 degrees would fit.
So I googled it and I got a Russian translation, it's apparently a Russian swear word. Couldn't find anything from Japanese though
Yessss, give some love to Big Boom.

The lift isn’t slow it’s actually the fastest lift hill in the world. The ride is just so tall it feels like your going a half mph😱💥💥💥🤷🏻♂️
Is this a joke?
This has to be a joke.
It's a joke from tpr's vid
Which Japanese coaster will be parodied 1st?
1:43
The beast: Pathetic.
the chain is probably so slow because it's an old coaster and they want to minimize wear and tear since usually spareparts for old rides are hard to come by
Great Video and it's one of the only coaster with a tire braking system.
Fun Fact: This wasnt the original Big Boom. The original version was built in 1981 but closed in 2010. The coaster operated at Myoko Sunshine Land
Well, look at that: rcdb.com/510.htm Learn something new every day. Thank you!
I’m glad you’re back reviewing coasters!
BOOM!!! HERE COMES THE BOOM!!! READY OR NOT!!!
HERE COMES DA BOYS FROM DA SOUTH
Excellent song and even better movie
Big Boom AKA El Toro but made with steel with loop and short track length and awesome drop
I'm already obsessed over drive tires, but to use them for brakes? O-M-G!
Just added this to my bucket list.

Looks like you could reach out & touch those tires.
I love the ride so much airtime!
You should parody it. Remember mean streak??? The parody mentioned it's slow lift
i wish you included the year built in the stats. thx taylor for the video
I played all of Super Mario Run on that lift. Takes no time at all.
What the hell is that!? 😮
Looks beautiful! 😍 Awesome review as per usual! ❤️👍
The worst train restraints I’ve seen is probably the big apple coaster. What do you guys think is the train with the worst restraints?
Can You do a zadra Review.
I have not ridden Zadra yet unfortunately, however I will be sure to review it after I eventually do ride it!
Anything strange about the coaster is mainly because it’s Japanese. It’s not a big Coaster Company
Do top 20 japanese coasters soon
Great review! Are you gonna do a Fujiyama review. Is it also possible we can see a Big One review from Blackpool Pleasure Beach

Maybe El Toro copied the first half of Big Boom🤔

This generally looks like a cool park
Yess, was waiting for this
Dragon Mountain would like a word with you regarding the slowest lift hill (this honestly seems slower)
Taylor taking about getting yanked over in the back here alot lmaooooo
Alot of "ejection" happening as well too
What a About the other 2 rollercoasters at that park?
What about them?
@@CoasterStudios are they coaster credits?

Why don't you do a review of camel coaster? it has some funky transitions
Is the view at the top of Big Boom better than Wildfire?
Not even close

all of the ones I visited

@@CoasterStudios nice.
Does this coaster usually run with one train? It looks like the tires slow it down in the station, I'm curious.
Jameson Thomas yes, I think they only have one train for it
Man, and I though Phantom had a long lift. That's only just under 1 minute.
Nice!
Parody this coaster please!
What if the train was even bigger and there was just lap bars, how much airtime would you get in the back then?
I think if you weren’t stapled, you’d get an absolute ton!
"really like that turnaround"
it’s had that drop since the 80s?
Imagine this ride being called Big Boomer
Can you do a camel coaster review?
Not planning on it, simply because the ride was so tame. Not a whole lot to it.
Oh ok lol
But you reviewed GAO and you called that coaster a “mine train” and camel coaster is almost the same thing with it’s layout.

I heard the Japanese reason for the slow lifthills is to build up the anticipation of the ride. I don't care for it.
R.I.P people trying to ride the gigas because Orions is going to be the forth making it harder to ride all the gigas in North America
Big Boom make a underwear monsoon!
Japanese ride themed to a big boom
The first drop angle is 75
Is that a Togo or some wierd Russian manufacturer?
Meisho is the manufacturer. They’re Japan based.

Paco xD Yeet both are ridiculously slow!
Oh my goodness finally some shoutouts to my hometowns only coaster haha

John Lorton ok zoomer

Ok boomer
Why is japan so gloomy
