    As someone who had to learn vue from 0 for my work project, these videos where you tell "Hey! Here is a nice and easy way to do X" have been really useful. Thanks!

    But seriously - thanks, good topic!

      He is passing some classes as props, so that's why he doesn't use 'class' but 'className' instead. It is correct.

    most common mistakes I see people do with Vue:
    - forget a good initial value so reactivity works as intended
    - misuse/confusing of this in vue
    - reuse code with mixins
    - auto-register every component in the bootstrap

    You don't need to make a change to the file to be able to save it again. You can just save it without changes and also add a keybinding for it. It's also pointless to use a linter for formatting because that's what formatters are for.

    This was a great video. I'm new to the channel, so I apologize if I should've looked at your channel first, but do you happen to have such hints for like.. typical structures of a project? Where to put what? How to properly group components with their DTOs etc.?
    I am new to Vue (started with Vue 2.6x, now on 3.x, because it's a home project and I can afford to not have something super stable and compatible), but I am quite experienced in Angular and do know some bits of React.
    In Angular one would use certain folder structures and module information in order to have separate lazy loadable functionalities. Is there something similar in Vue?
    I am using Vue3 with TypeScript and ESLint and I take joy in having a warning-free startup - I fix all the warnings, that appear.
    I already added MSW, Axios, Vuetify etc. to my project and am having fun trying things outside of my comfort zone (which is Java backend + Angular).

    holdup, how do you have more than 1 root tags (h1 and button) in template? vue 3 but without composition api? i think using more than 1 root tags is the most common error in vue 2

    • @samuelmorkbednarzkepler
      @samuelmorkbednarzkepler 3 роки тому

      Vue 3 no longer needs you to have just 1 root element. You can have as many as you want now. Wheter you use composition API or not is irrelevant because this is about templates not scripts

      @samuelmorkbednarzkepler 3 роки тому

      @@aleksandarstevanovic5854 yes, you can use options API in Vue 3. However, I really reccomend you give the composition API a good try. Especially with the script setup method. Cause it really allows you to write incredibly clean and simple code.
      You can continue to write with the options API but I'm pretty sure the composition API is going to be the real future of web development in general

    React using jsx is such a weakness for react

    • @hidami3241
      @hidami3241 3 роки тому

      How?

    • @Arabian_Abomination
      @Arabian_Abomination 3 роки тому +5

      @@hidami3241 imagine using bootstrap and pasting in the html code from bootstrap docs, well u have to go back and change all the attributes to comply with jsx rules like class to classname, also there is no v-if v-else directives that react offers so we are stuck with very ugly jsx having ternary operators in it. Vue provides all these and more to write clean code

    • @hidami3241
      @hidami3241 3 роки тому +2

      @@Arabian_Abomination I actually prefer react way of writing if and map instead of v-for or v-if cause it makes you better at javascript. And there's no big deal in using className instead of class its not like its a hard to to learn that oh I have to use className instead of class.
      React is javascript and as a developer there's nothing more than using a framework that even makes you better at javascript.
      React jsx is basically like html, ypu still use all your html syntax except for className and htmlFor and maybe others I don't know yet but they are also not hard to know.
      Vue is great I love it too, especially the vue ui part of it.
      But I don't like the too much magic aspect of vue, it just gives you too many things to learn where you can just use normal javascript to do it.
      And talking of clean code. I think react also does the same cause most of your javascript can be found before the return statement of the function and your templates are after the return statement.
      One of the things I don't just like about react is that it dosent come with its own styled component unlike vue scoped styled component. And routing.
      Vue gives too much magic and sometimes get me confused cause I don't even know how to write my javascript in it until I try and try and eventually would sort it out.
      However vue is great 👍 , I love
      the 2 way data binding.
      The vue ui especially when you choose manual setup.
      The built-in props validation
      And the built-in styled component features.
      React on the other hand is pure javascript if not almost

    • @Arabian_Abomination
      @Arabian_Abomination 3 роки тому

      @@hidami3241 it’s not just replacing class name but all the attributes
      And using ternary operator in the markup I think is very weak. Vue provides computed properties to make it easier.
      Also map is not part of react. It is pure js. So react doesn’t really provide a way to render a list. Vue does easily with v-for
      There are so many more reasons too

    • @hidami3241
      @hidami3241 3 роки тому +2

      @@Arabian_Abomination I never said map method is a react feature, I said react is purely or almost javascript which means you're basically writing javascript.
      All the attributes? They are not hard to remember it's as simple as when you are new to html.
      Class - className
      For - htmlFor etc.. etc..
      You said vue does it easily with v-for... however I would prefer to actually know what v-for is doing behind the scene, I want to be able to do it myself and that's why I like the react way of using map.
      Give me magic but not too much, im not trying to be Merlin.
      I understand you're trying to say it is very sweet and easy to use v-for="Name in names " but i think writng the actual code is more better, I myself don't know how to use map method really well until I started using react and I started writing more of javascript it makes me understand somethings.
      Too much of trying to make it easy means a there would be a lot of things to know also.
      Are you seriously saying these attributes are hard fit you to remember? 😅😅
