But this, it is a powerful movie.
I do like the style a lot. It fits the game perfectly.

This is an artifact animation. All frames are of the highest quality. This object menaces with spikes of sadness and is adorned with hanging rings of beauty. On it is an image of a human and a computer. The human is crying. This relates to the viewing of A tale from Dwarf Fortress by the human peasant MrWillsauce in 2013.
    Thanks for this.

Utterly gorgeous. Isn't it incredible what stories can spring up from a few lines of text and some moving ASCII characters? The animation style - both the drawing and the rendering - and the sound, including the voice-acting, the simple but compact direction and the lo-fi sound, work incredibly well, too. I'd love to see some more!

Dead dwarf with missing body happens multiple times per game.
Don't really see the purpose of putting so much effort into animating it, but the animation still doesn't lack in quality.

@@RiqCrow one of the best things recommended to me by youtube by far. I started playing DF around the time these animations were made, but had never seen them (and I watch everything I can get my hands on related to DF). To learn it was made in a calculator was incredible, and it really is totally appropriate (I think I left another comment to that effect). My favorite part is that it has a VERY distinctive character, style, and form. I'm absolutely in love with it. It's 10y but still so fresh, and I had never seen nothing quite like it. Also, the use of title cards like in old silent movies is a genious move. Thanks for those!
