He felt comfortable with the 16 and it was the right decision. The only problem was that Norris was playing really good and sadly someone had to lose. What a game
Watching this I feel like I did when I saw that game in the olympics where they scrub the ice. I don’t know what the fuck is going on, but I find myself still watching.
I've never been a fan of darts, even now I don't consider myself one. I don't know the names of the champions, top countries, or what tournaments and championships are held. But every time I find a video from the competition on the Internet or on TV, I can't stop watching it till the end. I look at these darts and normally I feel more emotions and excitement than when watching football or athletics :)
I guess because it is also a precision sport, and since it's a pub game almost by nature, the crowds tend to lean towards the enthusiastic and boisterous sort.
So before I started watching these dart videos today I had assumed the goal was to *always* hit the bullseye, as many times and as close to it as possible. I was so wrong.
- Goal is to fulfill whatever the base point is set at as quickly as possible, having 3 throws per turn, the standard of base points being 501 points. - All the numbers and their smaller parts are as follow : single, double on outer edges and triple in the smaller middle part. - Bullseye is 25 in the outer part, and 50 dead in the center. - Standard requires a player to finish the 501 points with a double. For example lets say you have 32 points left, you need to shoot double 16. The quickest way to fulfill 501 points has you trying to hit triple 20 as much as possible, which gives you the highest number of points possible in 3 throws : 180 points. (Sometimes a player will hit a particular number like triple 19, triple 18, triple 17 or even bull, for a few reasons : because they are having a better feeling about it rather than trying to hit triple 20 - next to it you have 5 or 1 so every shot has its risk, or simply to set the number of points remaining in such a way that they can throw for a double..) * note that if you have a certain number of points remaining, and that you hit a number that gives you a higher number of points than required it is called a bust, it is a no score and you need to pass the turn. Darts rules are actually very simple, but precise in the sense that it is a game that needs discipline in many ways. Good balance, self control and precise throws. Playing darts is very fun, especially while drinking with friends at the pub, more than watching it, although watching a game can also be good fun actually, as youtube shows, which feels like watching a game of tennis sometimes. Some electronic dart machines nowadays count the points themselves, and they have different modes, like you can set higher base points, you have mini games, challenges, team play like 2v2, playing online vs players all around the world etc. I actually discovered darts a few years ago, around 2015 in Taiwan where they have lots of machines in bars. You can even get a card for electronic machines and set up an account, which will tell you your stats, a great way to improve your game. Best i have ever played was AAA19 which is not bad for a casual player like me, playing drunk vs a semi pro taiwanese friend, hitting triples and ending up winning the game. Really great fun with friends or even playing solo online vs people around the world ✌️🙂 🎯
