Hey Mitch! I think you should mention evaporation as part of your hurricane formation along with the other mechanics of the storm. It would explain the missing step between precipitation and convection.

Eyewalls are like lightening and not supposed to hit in the same place twice. But we live in unprecendated times. Francine came right over me. And another storms eyewall in less than a month over the same area would be unaturally rare. But... Let someone else have this one. I am not from SE La and my wife is. Boight a new house 5 years ago and in that time Zeta, Ida and Francine.. Zeta was too fast and on the western Eyewall. Ida was bad but not too much damage and Francine no damage. And now two storms in less than a month possibly? My wife's from here and not me but sick of being stressed. I hate seafood and the beach. I come from the mountains of Arkansas. Still have a hundred and fifty acres there wher oneleg has to be shorter than the other. 1 more time and we will live there or I will be single again. I am sick of Hurricanes.
The 12z Euro artificial intelligence model and the GFS matching up pretty good this looks like a Panhandle to Big Bend strike looking more like an idalia track but who knows we shall see
Looking at the ensembles I'm getting the feeling that this might do a 2005 Wilma or 2022 Ian scenario. Especially if it can consolidate and if the trough and steering currents are in place it may not make the Northern/panhandle of Florida/Alabama landfall. The GFS has been shifting further south and east . Unless it's just me.
Yup even the euro shifted way more east, I feel like this could cut through Florida middle and be like a 2005 Wilma 😢 models are shifting more south east

They way it's starting to fire up the convection and the dark blacks, grays and pinks that means it's strengthening up quicker than what was initially anticipated so that means it might be going North at 1st then South East instead of NNE.

I think it’ll hit a little more south, gotta take acc of the front that’s sweeping southward. Depending on the speed of that and when that front picks this up will determine landfall. But I think it’ll be a little further south then the big bend

Current very early model tracks have it west of s. Fla. If that holds and depending on the pace of dev. You may have feeder bands moving from se to nw..also you saw a lot of moisture with Mitchs map over Fla..what helps with south Fla is the Cuba land which it could keep it low end imo..and mountains If it forms sw of Fla. and moves ne which models arent showing that much. Your hurricane Andrew aug 24 1992 came off Africa and moved west into Fla.with landfall Elliot Key then hardest hit Homestead. And another landfall in Louisiana. (Imo) south Fla will not take a landfall if it does it should be under cat2 my opinion only..check your local forcasts and check out here with Mitchs computer runs and daily updates..Hope this helps..be safe..again when we have a TS or a hurricane then the cone comes out when models grasps that center of low pressure.. and ofcourse our hurricane hunters do their pass through gathering data

The reason the GFS model is so different on the 18z run. could be because that run isn't the weather balloon run. Only the 00z and 12z runs are.
The GFS is predicting two strong hurricanes to hit Florida by Oct 5th. This one to the panhandle and another one through central Florida.
What are those storms are you referring to Helene or something else

Hurricane predictions and those professing to be educated enough to make them have made clear that they don’t have a clue what they’re looking at and have zero reliability in making any predictions. You’ll do better to predict the lottery numbers.

So once again, I love your show but you are wasting time on storms that might form, when there is bad weather happening right now and you did not even mention it. Like a tornado warning in Texas, many many severe thunderstorms from the eastern states to new mexico texas kansas. I just do not understand. Maybe some of us who live in the united states need to find a new weather show. that is sad, but you are wasting time on storms that might happen might not. when there are problems happening here and you ignore them. do you think that helps to get ratings or clicks on your show? that is to bad I thought better of you.
There are people who planned or are planning to go on cruise vacation. This information is vital to avoid being sea sick or not going to the ports.

But in reality, it doesn’t matter. And if you would have actually watched the video, you would’ve seen the radar screen which Mitch showed and the storm is already forming. The NHC tagged it as 70% percent in their 8pm update.
Hate to break it to yall but even the Weather Channel is spending most of the day on this developing system. It’s hurricane season kids. Stick to your local weather news segments if you want more on YOUR local weather info. Don’t come complaining on someone’s channel because it ain’t catering to what YOU want.
First of all, if you’re a regular viewer like you say you are then you would know that Mitch covers the lower 48’s during his morning updates. He does evening updates when there’s a possible life threatening event, but I never seen you around here and I’ve been following Mitch since the beginning
