- Esports is no stranger to cringe. From terrible handshakes, to weird entrances to god awful trash talk, we’ve seen, and gritted our teeth through it all. But there is one moment, one awkward, almost unwatchable moment that we always come back to. A trainwreck from half a decade ago that not only produced one of esports' juiciest beefs and most humiliating beatdowns, but unquestionably its greatest diss track. Respect your elders.

But MOST humiliating? Bruh. PerfectLegend lost a FT10 13-0 to Sonicfox after spending MONTHS talking shit. And that is not a typo. HE LOST A FIRST TO 10 WINS THIRTEEN TO ZERO.

Was going to have to type this, perfect 13gend is the worst beatdown in the FGC history, and serves as a good lesson in why we don't shit talk people who are very confident in themselves and good at the shit they do

You got to remember that this was also in a timeline where Leffen was "universally" hated/disliked. It was before he was as popular as he is now. He was THE villain of Melee, and he had also embraced that role. That's also definitely a reason the disstrack was liked as much as it was.

Watched this right after seeing the video on Perfect Legend's 13-0. Comparing Chillin and PL's moments on the mic post-loss and the thought process behind them is like night and day. As bad as that whooping was, I gotta give respect to Chillin for his self-awareness.

"Respect your Elders" is a certified Banger!!!! No matter if he got 5-0'd, it goes down in history.
The implication that there was no bad blood when Leffen literally talked shit to Chillens sponsors for being so dumb as to chose him is stupid, Leffen was legitimately hated by many in those days and he even received bans from tournaments because of his toxic behavior (hence one of the jokes in the diss track ".zip")
Chillin is still awesome for doing it. No matter how cringe it was, it was still probably the single greatest moment in esports history for me.
Seeing this happen live was truly a moment.

Apex 2015 Salty Suite was the greatest event to happen for Melee. Not only did you have the 5-0, You had the Bizzaro "EZ MONEY" Flame vs Eikelmann match. I don't think we'll have another event as iconic as that was.

If I'm remembering correctly, the first time this was heard was right before they played their Salty Suite match. Chillin didn't release it on youtube on the days leading up to the match, they played it in the venue right before the match so everyone in there was stunned

I dont know anything else but I dont know why it should affect smash even the event planners made sure theres a hotline for anyone dealing with abuse and wants to make the tournaments safe for everyone
