This is the song I wrote the day after the election: One Foot in Front of the Other/ Lead with Love! Folks asked me to post it on UA-cam, so here you go.
I can see many comments about choirs singing this song. It feels like it's spreading around the world. We sing it in my choir in Stockholm, Sweden. I Love to sing it and it always make me happy.
We have sung this song in numerous singing circles here in Canada. I felt called to share after seeing so many beautiful people from around the world sharing this song too.
I think it would be amazing to hear people singing this song at the marches all over the country, most especially on January 21st. Feel free to share the idea if you agree. I heard Melanie DeMore sing at a conference I was at last year (the Science of Awe, sponsored by Greater Good at UC Berkeley) it was beautiful, uplifting, charming - she had the whole crowd singing together- powerful, memorable. I'm thinking of making it my sign for the march - One Step in Front of the Other. Lead with Love!

EXCELLENT! Seattle Women's March is saying we all have to be silent like the civil rights era tradition...NO. WRONG. Civil rights marches weren't silent!!! They sang loud and long! Thank you so much for this song!!!!
Thanks to our wonderful music teacher at Pleasant Ridge Montessori (public neighborhood Montessori elementary school in Cincinnati) our children in choir sang this song on Friday to 250 grandparents in an incredibly joyful event. Thank you Melanie for the creation of great music that we can all sing and believe in.
I was able to get this song as a part of the JusticeChoir songbook for a donation and it sure has been such a lovely song to share in my music school. Yesterday morning my granddaughter's elementary school had a concert outdoors and almost 200 parents, grandparents and siblings were there. Each grade did a song. All the songs were about connection, love, unity and inclusion. They ended with the whole school belting out this song. It affected me so strongly that I searched for it here.
