You asked a really good question when you askeed who the producer is. LEEZ and Ollounder. They compose, arrange, mix, and produce all Dreamcatcher songs. As far as I know, they pretty much debuted with Dreamcatcher. Geniuses. And astonishingly eclectic.
Dami did say in an interview they wanted to have local bands performing with them and they'll be having fun dancing with em'. An orchestra on the other hand would be dope af!
Maybe you dont pay attention at black or white song but in dami rap she says "I WILL MIX EVERYTHING.." the fact that dreamcatcher slay any genre is totally true Dreamcatcher proved their talent and the world still didnt see it
I was waiting for this reaction. After seeing your Scream reaction I just knew you'd lose your mind with this album. WARNING: This may become a mini rant. In a way I feel like this album may be Dreamcatcher's make or break moment. The reason I say that is because if this doesn't cause people to pay attention then nothing ever will. Who else is doing this? Who? NO ONE! You've got EDM, trap, hip hop. Some rock and some pop. Jazz and lounge. Personally this is a near flawless album. Even the best albums usually have a weak track or two. This is start to finish quality across an incredible range of styles and each track comes together to create a well balanced album. What's also great is that despite every song being unique each one is still very much Dreamcatcher. Every one still maintains their stamp on it. The whole album was produced and composed by the duo of Leez and Oullander who have worked with Dreamcatcher on a lot of their past stuff. These guys deserve a world of credit and you could even consider DC as a 9 piece as they continuously keep teeing it up for our girls to hit out of the park. This album really has strengthened how I've felt for some time. I see people call DC the best "underappreciated" group "in Kpop", the best "girl" group in Kpop etc etc. In my eyes after this album I have no doubts. Forget girl groups, forget Kpop, these girls are the best group, male or female, anywhere in the world doing things that others don't even dream of doing. They are the bar that everything else should be judged against.
They're part of the Kpop industry but their music is out of the Kpop world, another level imo, I still believe this is not their best album, they can do better in the future.
Couldn't agree more I feel like crying at how these talented and amazing girls are underrated even I was sleeping on them until last year and I regret it soooo much but not anymore I'm just soo in love with them and I'm gonna support them till the end. lets get them their first win guys.
Fun fact: tension was actually made around Good Night era, it would have maybe become a title track. They changed the lyrics and used it now instead (you're right about it being old school haha)
@InSomnia DrEvil I think Jiu talked about it during one of the february vlives (I'm not sure which one since there's so many). If you really want, I could ask around a bit?
@@wkfjskfj i'm gonna have to listen to it again and check that part. but for me it was how one part of the song sounded, the tune of it, it just reminds me of goodnight. it might be the part you talking about lol.
the way I sum up this album: scream was for the new fans, tension was for the old fans, and the rest made just for bacardi 😉 btw you think you are done, but no no no... you cannot be done without checking out MINX lol - why did you come to my house and love shake.... oh man everyone here can't wait to see your reaction for those 😃
I love how Sua has short rap lines in this album. She is afterall, Minx main rapper, but of course, in DC era, Dami and Gahyeon gets to shine and Dami bringing fire this time :>
I like how they put over the sky last... always loved the lyrics of the song 'I promise we will definitely will meet again' of course it will probably always be the last song they sing at concerts too :)
I totally agree with you on having a full orchestra backing their performances. A number of their songs give off that sort of melodic metal vibes (Nightwish, Within Temptation) so I definitely feel it would fit really well. Oh, they did sing Jazz Bar live. If you don't mind, I found this link from a youtuber that probably recorded the performance. ua-cam.com/video/0aqjSzBK6wQ/v-deo.html
I had the same reaction to Dami's fire in Black or White LOL I wasn't expecting that whole extended verse to slay so hard and she I'm wrote it (she's credited as a lyricist)
Main producers of the songs are Leez and Ollounder, though a few others help from time to time. I like all the new songs in the album but from all the b-sides my favorites are: 'Daybreak' (the sample in the medley hit me back then already), 'In the Frozen' (because it's such a sad and almost tragic yet beautiful song with that energetic part towards the end; reminded me of 'Silent Night') and 'Tension' (because I can relate to the message and a part of that song confuses me a lot because it sounds as if I heard it from Dreamcatcher before, though, it just might be my mind playing tricks on me). Other songs have highlight parts I can appreciate. Also, let's be real, who wouldn't feel blessed hearing lyrics like 'I think I love you' from Dreamcatcher members lol. Oh and about the outro. I have no clue about music but whatever they used it made it sound a lot like a heartbeat to me.
I love how you enjoy and focus on the music, good reaction. Jazz Bar is amazing and Tension is the classic Dreamcatcher rock sound, another quality album here :)
Full moon was Dreamcatcher's tribute to their fans on their first year anniversary and Over the sky was their second tribute on their second year anniversary that's why it may be the reason why those 2 songs were put on the last of the album before the outro. :)
These songs as well as "Paradise" were included because there were no readily available physical versions - "Full Moon" and "Over The Sky" were only given out as VERY limited pressings at some fan events in Korea (and command "over the sky" prices second-hand), while "Paradise" was only a digital single. Including these three songs allows those who want physical copies to have them.
The Scorpions have also done orchestra version of their rock songs with the Berlin Philharmonic. It's sounds sooooooo incredible. If you have not checked that out you definitely should - it'll be right up your alley
@@memoriesofnobody2754 just look up "scorpions philharmonic" into youtube. There is a whole album. Here is one of the songs: ua-cam.com/video/_Cd9FYO9Rh4/v-deo.html

for *In The Frozen* , do you remember your reaction to *ATEEZ's All To Action* album? in my opinion, In The Frozen is like Dazzling Light + WIN + Dreamcatcher's Silent Night. 35:16 the producers of this album is LEEZ and OLLOUNDER. both of them made most of Dreamcatcher's songs (FLY HIGH and WHAT werent composed by leez and ollounder). Leez and Ollounder together with EDEN and Buddy produced (literally all) ATEEZ's albums with EDEN as the 'main' producer even if, well, they four are contributed big there. 36:09 ATEEZ performed Dazzling Light and WIN in their concert back then in 2020.02.08-2020.02.09. AND YES AGREE In The Frozen would be so lit if it's performed live 😭😭😭 but b-side that Dreamcatcher is now promoting is Red Sun (they performed it in live stage), and Jazz Bar (they sang live in Rooftop VLIVE). maybe DC save Into The Frozen for next tour or special stag??? 👀 i hope so.
Fullmoon and Over The Sky were put on this album for several reasons. 1 The songs were never put on a EP or Mini album, only as singles. 2 since they are anniversary songs they had to include them on the first full album. 3 yes so Handong is included in the album. Just hope Handong and her family are alright, don't forget that Handong is from Wuhan where the virus started.
Theres never a single bad song on Dc's discography....it baffles me cause sometimes the medley didnt do the songs justice and i thought i wont like em but once i listened to em it just grows on ya hardd xD proud to be an InSomnia mannnn lets get these girls their first win!!

Disappointed you didn't listen to the Scream instrumental. Nobody ever reacts to the instrumentals that they have on their albums. The impact of the music is quite different without the vocals and really demonstrates the brilliance of LEEZ and Ollounder, the Gods of Music.
Agreed!!! I love all DC's instrumental, every time i listen the title song of 'em, i've been always listen the instruments, cause without vocals, you can clearly hear the components of their musical instruments in the background, and it's so epic

The girls really do deserve the world man it makes me so sad that they’re the best in the industry but also the most overlooked
I agree if this doesn`t make their breakthrough then the solution is clearly not in quality, is in marketing or promoting.
