- Sucrose is a VERY unique anemo unit, and her uniqueness has made her one of the prime units to slot into the game's newest Dendro teams, many of which are regarded as some of the strongest that we currently have access to. So in this video, I'm going to explain EVERYTHING you need to know in order to gear your Sucrose for success in Genshin Impact 3.0!

Video Idea: Dendro the final piece of the elemental puzzle. Dendro's introduction into the meta felt like salvation for so many characters. It literally solves a lot of confusion about certain characters (stuff like Lisa having an EM ascension stat, Yae having EM scaling on one of her passives, Kuki feeling pretty lackluster on release, etc) and also made them relevant in the current meta. It straight up gave lesser/more niche characters more relevance and novel teams to use (such as thoma, kuki, lisa, keqing, kokomi, and even traveler with their shiny new element). It feels like there needs to be a discussion on the impact of dendro and how much it helped the game in terms of balance both now and in the future.
I feel like you have a lot confused with her.... especially her artifact set. 4pc vv doesn't really do much, when you're using Dendro in your party. You can't swirl with Dendro.....so that eliminates Hyperbloom, Burgeon, and Spread (3 out of the 5 reactions) right off the bat.
Then if you ARE going to use her in an aggravate or burning team (i actually don't even know if it would work in a burning team, since Burning DMG is based off EM. But for arguments sake, I'll say that it does).... you have to apply Electro (ill use aggravate for my example), swirl it with vv, then electro is removed...so then you have to hit enemy with electro/dendro to get quicken, then electro again to get aggravate..... meanwhile, that 10s timer on the 4pc vv is at like 3-4 seconds by the time you're ready to start attacking with Electro.
4pc vv is pretty much useless with a dendro team. And having 2pc vv is pointless as well. So forget all about that set.
4pc Gilded Dream is good, but lets be real.....being able to find a good 4pc set is hard to do in this game. Chances are, most players already have at least 2pc amazing Wanderer's Troupe. The best, most realistic artifact set is going to be 2pc Gilded, 2pc Wanderer's.
For weapon, sacrificial fragments is the way to go. You want to load Sucrose up with as much EM as possible.....since her 2nd passive is pretty much the only reason she's going to be in the party at all.
My first Dendro team I did was Hyperbloom, with Kuki, Ayato, Traveler and Sucrose (to get that sweet sweet EM boost for Kuki triggering Hyperbloom). But then I took Sucrose out, and replaced her with Collei for Dendro resonance. With Sucrose, I was getting around 175 extra EM...but of course I had to be sure to use her skill/burst to get it. With 2 dendro characters, I get 50 EM (for doing nothing) plus an extra 50 for naturally triggering the reactions)....so I'm losing a tiny bit of EM....but this way I'm able to have 100% uptime Dendro application.

oh and the massive boost to swirl damage from 4pc VV? useless. it's not like Sucrose's entire job in most dendro teams is to SWIRL constantly for massive chain reaction damage ha ha ha ha ha ha

Agree, I think keeping her on field to output insane swirl damage and chain reactions that make her one of the best 4 star units for multiple meta team archetypes is just dumb and a waste of time, the only thing good about her is the 4th ascension passive NODDERS

@@billyfraiser6298Since nobody mentioned your flaw in reasoning when it came to the rotation extension due to removal of electro "argument" I'd suggest you read kqm elemental gauge theory or just test it yourself that swirling doesn't completely wipe the aura meaning you can just apply dendro afterwards....
I don't think Yelan is as good as Xingqiu in most of these teams, because you often end up without a free slot for an healer, and Xingqiu becomes your only character with healing and damage reduction. It's not much, but it's the only thing you have. Also Sucrose doesn't really benefit from Yelan's A4 in teams where she's on field.
Just a note on Sucrose's burst absorption: the absorption will occur when an element touches the center of the butterfly in her burst. Therefore you can actually control the absorbed element by infusing it with yourself and then touching the butterfly's core.
I always wondered why Sucrose’s butterfly didn’t always get infused with elements I was swirling. This is super helpful! Thank you!

@@pranavreddy817 Normally no, since her damage mainly comes from swirls and other reactions which require EM, I would recommend increasing her elemental skill for extra damage but I'll leave that to you (it has good multipliers), her burst and normal attacks can be left at level 1, Sucrose is a swirl beast and the more EM she has the more damage swirls and hyperbloom will deal.

@@stylerxo3654 to be honest that’s a good thing. Anemo is kinda ubiquitous before, except in mono teams. It’s good that we have more diversity with team building.
Sucrose was my first "non-story" character I got when I started playing, and just got her C6 last week! Always been one of my favs and this gave me some new ideas how to use her!
From AR 1 to 45 i mained Yanfei for hard bosses but Sucrose is DEFINITELY my favorite character and explore Girl from the very beginning, this is the first updated guide for her so I’m very grateful 👍🏻❤
Instead of Fischl proccing hyperbloom in salad, swapping her for Beidou will be better because beidou burst won’t be able to proc hyperbloom so the only electro would come from sucrose swirling electro. Since she will have the highest EM on the team her hyperblooms should be pretty significant.
That means running solo electro beidou, which means you need 200+ ER and some fav support to burst every rotation. You also lose Fischl A4 procs so the team becomes noticeably worse in single target

@@d3m3nt3d_t3acup_ Yes running solo electro beidou does require you to run more ER on her to burst every rotation but with sucrose triple tapping E, Xingqiu double tapping E, and DMC on fav this rotation produces a LOT of particles so it’s definitely not as unachievable as you describe.
The main focus is controlling who is proccing hyperblooms in salad. Sucrose will have 3-4x more EM than fischl so being able to control her to be the trigger for hyperbloom cores 100% of the time will result in stronger instances of hyperbloom (which is still just as strong in single target) vs having fischl steal the triggers for much weaker hyperblooms 50% of times.
Not to mention switching for fischl will take away your ability to have Beidou shield + XQ rainswords which if combined together gives you insane levels of damage mitigation. There are drawbacks and building requirements for every team, but in this type of salad team, controlling the trigger to be sucrose definitely helps with single target damage.
In my opinion as soon as you have c1 sucrose she’s pretty good and strong as a unit😊 she’s been my main since I started and my favorite too, got her c6 yesterday:)
Thanks for all the updates on characters since Dendro came out. I saved up primos for so long and then pulled finally on the past two banners. But now I have so many great four stars and I can't decided who I want to use. I am happily perplexed! Your vids help tons!

This is a good and informative video and I appreciate the recognition Sucrose is getting, she is an incredibly powerful unit with lots to offer (and let people see Kazuha isn't the only option), people exaggerate when they say she is clunky, she isn't, it took me less than one minutes to understand her and had no trouble at all.
with dendro teams, since anemo units can proc reactions when they swirl/infuse pyro/hydro/electro, they can be your main drivers in aggravate/hyperbloom/burgeon teams
i don't know why some people treat sucrose like she's a kazuha downgrade. she's a side grade at worse and in some teams shes an upgrade

People even treat the ANEMO ARCHON as a poor man’s kazuha.
They are literally just up kazu’s ass so hard and don’t realize multiple characters can be good at the same time.
There are definitely teams where she's a downgrade over Kazuha, so it isn't accurate to say that she's a sidegrade at worst. Take most of the "mono" teams, as an example. EM doesn't help those much, if it all, while Kazuha's DMG does work.
But yeah, there are also cases where she's the superior choice. Like situations where you want an anemo driver to cause lots and lots of swirls. Her being a catalyst user means she tends to win out those situations.

When looking at the numbers and function, it’s true that sucrose can do a respectable job filling kazuhas shoes. what comes down to it for me is the burst, playstyle, and constellation requirements that can make sucrose feel like a downgrade.
Kazuha will carry your team to the moon at C0. He is easy to build and extremely fun. Sucrose needs a little help from cons to reach that ease of use, and she admittedly feels clunky to play.
Fell in love with Sucrose as soon as I got her and put her in with my Lisa dendro team, now Im scrambling to get her c2 while I'm all out of primos
She’s only one of the two 4 stars I leveled up to 90, the other is Kuki
I’m pretty sure her burst infusion just comes from elements(applied to both enemies and the player) touching the core. The difficulty comes in the fact that she blows enemies upwards before they can reach it.
one thing to note is that if another anemo character on the team is using VV, sucrose can also make very good use of the 4pc instructor set, because its passive can make up for the low 4* artifact main stats

Random question: What are your thoughts on Burgeon Diluc? I haven't seen a lot of info or footage about it, and like, yes it sounds better in theory than in practice, but I think it can be a decent alternative for him, even if he just has an EM weapon and EM Sands + whatever EM he gets from substats and Crimson Witch also being updated to increase Burgeon DMG.

I finally have her c4. She is the 1st character i pulled. I am a day 1 player who never skipped any of her banners. 4 stars are way harder to get than 5 yeesh
So, I think on teams that use the standard reactions Viridescent is the clear only option (except if, maybe, Sucrose is the driver in taser comps). However, in certain Dendro comps, Gilded Dreams can definitely outscale Viridescent due to Viridescent not being as needed. This definitely changes if your main DPS is either Keqing or Cyno, obviously.
Ehem so I did some math.. I used my sucrose vv artifacts that give 725 em + 221 em from sac frag = 946, now with GD it just adds 230 go that = 1176. The buff for each respectively is 239,2 and 285,2. The difference is 46 em...... But wait let's see how much of a difference that makes, best case starting with 0 em the difference for blooms is 10,6% now this is quite a lot all things considered but let's say you run full em ca 1k on your char doing the reaction like you should...... The difference is now 1,9%.... Meanwhile vv is about 27,7...8% for elemental dmg increase.
Just use VV okay?
I'm building Sucrose because I can't put Kazuha on both Spiral Abyss teams
Dendro MC (Or Collei, iirc her Q CD can be nice) made such a good addition to what is such a great core 4* package, Even Lisa now has much better places overal, and Sucrose having more teams that don't use Xinqiu is also amazing for some.
It used to be 4* reverse-melt + 4* taser, now you can more commonly opt for aggravate + vape Xiangling. Aggravate is less circle-impact than rev-melt and has decent grouping, so it can be big even if you put Kaeya in vape. Nahida is also such a great early account pull overal, and gets rid of circle-impact altogether here, she immediately pays off and keeps doing so with new pulls, shame I didn't get lucky.
This video is very helpful!! But I have a question, what avout mappa mare, the craftable mondstadt catalyst? It has an EM sub-stat , is it good for Sucrose? Or the said new weapons are much better than it??
the biggest difference in dmg with hyperbloom between gilded dreams and VV is purly a case of, do you want more hydro/electro swirl dmg, or more hyperbloom dmg/EM share, the issue at this point where VV over takes is its uping the hydro and electro dmg also well because how EM transformitive reactions are only increasing by a vary small margin, and i mean small. the hyperbloom on VV side i normally saw 33750 vs gilded 34254. EM scaling is vary bad at later points that there is a point that 1EM doesnt even equate to more then 1 dmg increase on something thats suppose to be strong like burgeon. because how strong the burgeon, there is a argument if your somehow not already running deepwood memories on the dendro unit, that set works vary well.
Honestly, I hope more types EM buffer becomes available. Sucrose is incredible on some teams, but her playstyle doesn't always match certain characters.
Take for example Keqing who was in the video. The way Sucrose group mobs doesn't fit Keqing too well since Keqing is always up in mob's faces, so she needs more AoE that center around the character than just in front for effective VV shred, this is why Keqing mains tend to prefer Kazuha (Sometimes even without C2), the amount of hits landed by Keqing is often determined by effective grouping. While it's possible to play around this issue, it often waste seconds, and seconds can add up when you are on a timer. Not to mention with Aggravate it's now even more important to land as many hits as possible.
It's not as big an issue with Sucrose burst, the suction is strong and the AoE is large. The problem is of course 80 energy cost and longer cd...
kazuha is better in some comps and sucrose is better in some comps. aggravate teams will always prefer kazuha over sucrose because dmg% buff in aggravate scale better than em

my main gripe about aggravate teams is the lack of a healer so for overworld I like sucrose with the prototype amber and it also helps manage her burst cost
Kuki can be your aggravate healer because she can stack EM for her healing.

My preferred units for Sucrose:
Nahida, Shinobu, and Yelan for hyperbloom and skyrocketing EM
alternatively:
Tighnari, Cyno, Shogun/Fischl for a devastating spread/aggravate boss-killing comp

On a team with Xinqiu and Fischl which element you want to swirl ideally? What's the rotation ?
What about instructor on a hyperbloom team? Like Nahida, Xingqiu and Kuki? As the main damage comes from the dendro cores activated from kuki's skill, and nahida's skill and normal attacks, there's not much use of the elemental reduction (as it does not absorb dendro and kuki's power is not from the skill's damage itself). So... Infusing electro to give Kuki EM from Sucrose's passível PLUS the 120 EM from instructor. I think it would be great

VV will increase Xingqiu's damage for his burst, but after doing a bit of self calculations, she's better with Gilded Dreams specifically for her A4 (20% elemental mastery share) for the hyperbloom proccer. (e.c Kuki, Shogun)
She shares about 212.2 Elemental Mastery when you max both Sacrificial Fragments and EM main stat artifacts (Sands, Goblet, Circlet) and utilize her A1 passive + Gilded Dreams' 2pc and 4pc effect
On the 'salad' team, which element you want to infuse with dendro first or it doesn't matter and with all the swirls everything goes? I'm under the impression that if you use dendro then electro, that won't create any bloom even when you apply hydro because dendro only reacts with the first element it gets in contact with right ?

i'm just trying to build a team to deal with abyss 12 and i can now do it cause my only problem was sucrose cause like an idiot i originally just went for as much EM as possible but then swapped it for 1:2 crit build and now i'm going back to EM

r/jeanmains says that you can use her as an aggravate support, you should go for standard stats on the artifacts and not full em tho, you can go for full em but it won't supplement your damage as much. Anyways vv is recommended and I'd say go for whatever you're able to. If you have good em and atk vv pieces with balanced substats you can pretty much put on whatever pieces you think are best. Do correct me if I'm wrong tho, nonetheless she's a pretty viable option imo. Especially for her skill too, which can swirl along with her burst (tho you need very frequent dendro and electro application). However considering you only need 1 swirl of dendro + electro to trigger aggravate, it's probably her best bet. Pls take this all with a grain of salt and most importantly don't burn yourself out :)

I don't think hakushin ring works that way. I applied quicken and swirled with sucrose and only anemo/electro were given the buffs.

I know you watch some Zajef as well since you called Sucrose hyperbloom salad but I actually find it weird that there is no mention of Yelan because arguably she is the only other hydro option for sucrose hyperbloom. Also kuki as an option feels weird because of course she has hyperbloom teams but not really with Sucrose since there's only few seeds you can generate and Kuki is going to steal the hyperbloom resulting in DPS falling off the cliff. Other than these points pretty solid and informative video

If u don't know sucrose is locked from buffing kazohas passive they don't work together, on the other hand she can buff kazoha to do more dmg him self with aggravate it's called thundering fury kazoha

And what sets should be used for Fischl and Dendro traveler? 🤔 I'm planning to use Sucrose, Kokomi, Fischl and DT :)
In that team, do you have a quicken aura or an electro-charged aura?
In all cases, Sucrose will be the one triggering most of the hyperblooms. Dendro traveler want the deepwood set to increase hyperbloom damages. If the aura on the enemies is mostly electro-charged, you want two 2-set bonus with ATK% or electro DMG (Thundering Fury, shimenawa, glad), or maybe 4 pieces Thundershooter. If you have a lot of quicken aura, EM becomes a lot more valuable on Fischl (ATK is still important, and crit/electro dmg are more important than ever), Thundershooter becomes less valuable (I heard quicken doesn't have a really high uptime of electro aura), and glided dreams becomes a lot more valuable (2-set TF, shime or glad are still really good).
my problem with dendro teams is that in best dendro teams u typically dont run/healer shielder so u dont lose on dmg and i cant imagine playing without healer/shielder
Definitely looking forward to when we get a dendro healer, that's for sure.
But that said, you don't need the best if you aren't trying to go for some speed-running or whatever. You just need good (and fun) enough.
I recently pull for ganyu and I'm trying to get the Amos bow my damage is not so good on her caz I'm using 2 piece gald and some random artifacts i want to know much about her in detail so plzz make a dedicated video on that's gonna help a lot
There's tons of ganyu guides out there, but ppl don't mostly make guides on her because she's really easy to play, cast e, aim until you get the frostflake effect then shoot, but I suppose you alr know this so I would suggest getting 2pc blizzard, if you can, get a 4pc. It's really good on her. So is wandering troupe too, really buffs her attacks in a melt team. Hamayumi, blackcliff, prototype, Amos bow, even the new hunters path but not as much as the latter, and the slingshot bows are good options on ganyu, from what I've seen people use. Good luck either way!
Artifact sets:
Wanderer's Troupe - best general set.
Shiminawas - highest dmg but clunky to use. Not recommended for freeze.
Blizzard Strayer - best freeze set.
Stats:
Timepiece: ATK% (or EM if going for full melt build)
Goblet: Cryo Dmg %
Circlet: Crit Rate/Dmg
Substats:
Crit > ATK/EM > ER
Weapons:
5* - most 5* are great. Amos, Hunter's Path & Aqua Simulacra being her best. Polar Star works well too but have to string in normal attacks for the buff.
Skyward Harp is a good stat stick.
4* - Prototype Crescent high refinement (preferred) or Hamayumi (only on melt where you won't use your burst)
Blackcliff warbow is *okay* but passive is unreliable.
Talents:
Melt - Normal attack > skill > burst
Freeze - Normal attack > burst > skill
Team comps:

Is sucrose better than venti now for dendro teams?
I feel like 3.0 helped sucrose a lot in that it doesn’t mean kazuha is a must pick yet just another sucrose but you can still clear spiral abyss with 1 sucrose

My sucrose c1 only and 666 talent mean she fine for support type? Coz I don't have primos to aim c6. Sucrose like kaxuha or venti if I don't have them?
She's fine at 1/1/1, as far as talents go, in the type of teams she tends to be used in. She does, however, want to be level 90. Her value comes from swirl, transformative reactions, not the direct damage from her attacks/skills.

- Kuki
- Collei
- Surcose
- [Extra character]

The way Dendro has buffed both Sucrose and Fischl so much. Now there’s way more reason to use Sucrose over Kazuha bc unless you have c2, Kazuha doesn’t have Sucrose’s EM transfer
And that's only when Kazuha uses his burst, Sucrose is constantly sharing.
I wonder, should I use her or Heizou as driver in a taser team? Both deal anemo, Heizou has huge personal damage and Sucrose is good as battery and buffing EM... Hmmm...
Preference, sucrose has better crowd control with EM benefits, Heizou is more single target with better anemo dmg and is more flashy and fun to play. Up to you.

@@teo2805 Hes better off with crit stats, and anemo goblet, with EM sands or atk sands which ever has better sub stats.
Generally speaking, Sucrose is the better choice. Her grouping is much stronger, and she provides more EM for the team.
Heizou isn't down at "We have Sucrose at home" levels, but, if maximizing the effectiveness of your team is the goal, Sucrose is the choice. But, hey, either can get the job done, and if you enjoy Heizou more, well, that should be all the reason you need to use him instead.
I have soooo many amazing "broken" C6s of 4* characters but resources are so limited that only C6 Xingqiu, Yanfei, and Xiangling are built. C6 Sucrose, Beidou, Sara, and Yun Jin are all collecting dust :(

Sucrose is still good option, just give her thrilling tales, her artifacts can be ER with a bit of damage, that way her burst will be up more often.

She's already broken so people are taking her away from the spotlight a little and shedding more light on other electro units who haven't had the chance to shine outside of taser teams. It's not that dendro nerfed raiden, it's just that electro had always been the underdog element and just now it's getting a major chance to shine with dendro. So it's pretty obvious that she's not bad with dendro, but if you're going for a reaction team there are better units imo. Still, the shogun remains SS tier, just not in dendro teams and that's what the abyss is around atm so people wanna build dendro teams with A LOT of electro application and fast/no icus.

She works fine with dendro, it's just that her teams aren't really an upgrade over her other teams, more so alternatives. You can actually build her for full em and make her proc hyperblooms on her Elemental skill which is actually very strong or just go unga bunga, give her the usual build, slap a dendro unit in the team and go to town for aggravate, both work fine but the hyperbloom comp is better if you REALLY want to take advantage of dendro reactions with her

She's used for some versions of hyperbloom, and supposedly pretty good in those. For Aggravate, you generally have Fischl as your first choice for an electro unit, due to her second ascension passive. And since you generally run an anemo, ideally one that groups/buffs instead of a healing one, and you need a dendro, that leaves one spot left. For that spot, there is plenty of competition. Yae is powerful choice, offensively speaking. Kuki or Dori provide healing. Meanwhile, Raiden builds tend to have a lot of ER, and less crit stats. The set of choice buffs her burst's DMG, but not her elemental skill's. Both of her two most typical weapons (The Catch and Engulfing Lightning) also don't help the multipliers on her elemental skill. Her burst's damage is also high, and so Aggravate makes for less of a gain percentage-wise. Between those factors, she's weaker on the Aggravate front.
I think a lot of it is that people have farmed good ER/Crit sets for her, and not EM sets. Who has time to go farm for that now? Plus, well, the game doesn't have a system to make it easy to swap between different setups for a character.
My poor Yanfei... I think people don't like her or use her because they prefer 5* like Hu Tao or the other chibi character, but I think she rocks!!

Your comparison between the sets was somewhat not visually clean.
Your script was fine. But Imo it would have been clearer to show what the damage values were for the reactions and swirls, total them up, and then calculate it as a percentage of the other. That way you don't need to record the clears and introduce player skill variance into play.

Xingqiu should be in the starglitter shop right now, no? So you can wish for Cyno, and use the starglitter from that wishing to get Xingqiu, if you don't have enough already.
I know some people would say that they would rather spend that starglitter on wishes, but, well, when you're looking at wishing on a banner you don't really want the five star from, I'd counter that getting the character from the store nets you more wishes for the five star you actually want.

The gacha gods finally spared my life by giving me a Sucrose on Kokomi's banner after being forced to skip Ayato and Venti (I was saving for Yelan) and losing my 50-50 in Kazuha's banner. And then they doubled the price by giving me Sac. Fragments a roll later... now I just need to farm the anemo cube and get enough anemo shards for her lmao.

Yeah, it's hard to aim. Usually you need to stand right next to the target and use her as a melee chara
Calling her aim a nightmare is an exaggeration, she isn't clunky like many say, just learn her for a minute and done, no problems.

What about Mappa Mora for the EM?
ehhhh magic guide gives much more EM as a 3 star and Fruit of Fulfillment does too whilst also granting ER , so Mappa is very much overshadowed for the purposes of EM, BUT it is decent for more personal damage if that's what you want to shoot for

Generally speaking, her particles from her elemental skill are sufficient in quantity that Favonius isn't really worth the opportunity cost. Heck, you'll generally go with Sacrificial for battery reasons instead, because the extra elemental skill use provides additional energy as well, plus more grouping and more EM.
If you did want an ER weapon on her, I'd go with the Ring (if electro is a major component in the team) or FoF (because FoF is like the reverse of Sacrificial... instead of EM with a nice side of extra energy, it is ER, with a nice side of EM).
