Leon your videos are absolutely the best on youtube. Thank you so much for all your informative videos! You really make a difference to people. You should be so proud! Keep it up brother.
Thanks Leon! My FC12 should arrive tonight. To be honest I'm a little overwhelmed with all of set-up choices but looking forward to jumping in to see what happens. Fun times!
Thanks for yet another great vid, sir...first time I've seen the way AxEdit looks with the FC, sort of a next level, Blammo kinda deal. Fractal is on their collective grind ...
Great video Leon. Maybe you have an answer for this. We are running two Foot Controllers into one FXIII. On each preset, we plan to set input chain 1 to the left and input chain 2 to the right. We want to make so the left guitarist can toggle his effects and the right guitarist can toggle his effects on the same preset. Each channel will then go to the house board for processing. This should be straight forward, but any insight you might have?
Holy $&%#. Now you've really done it. Literally build any rig you want, add all the control you could ever want, summarize it down to the most used, and stop thinking about it. Start jamming. I have never wanted an Axe FX more.
Love it, makes me more excited to dive in once mine arrives. I like where you're going with how you have yours set up, it does so much in such a small footprint. Appreciate the tips Leon, thank you!
Awesome tips. Thanks Leon for sharing, i am figuring out how to optimize the FM9 layouts and this brought some fresh ideas. I frequently change single coil to humbucker and would like to have an easy system without having to change presets, just with scenes? or within the same scene, changing EQ channels ? Maybe it makes sense having 3 presets for single and 3 for humbuckers on the first FM9 row.... I'd love to have a video addressing this issue. Best Regards
@@LeonTodd Thanks so much "Guru" Leon :-) I will try to work around that solution and see if it solves, otherwise i have to make a complete bank for the strats. I looked into your EQ curve, and the interesting video that shows how to put your strat sounding like humbucker, altough the idea here is having the strat and humbucker sounding on their own tones. Cheers.
Hey Leon, I have a bit of a request for your axefx videos. Pete Thorn did a couple of videos of amps "in the zone" I'd love to see a replication of those tones with the axefx units. I only ask because I'm an amp and cab guy and I'm running short on space 😂😂😂 and your videos are breaking down some walls in my mind
I now notice there is a very subtle color change when stepping on the scene's pedal. I wish I were more obvious indicators for Scene Identifier and ON/OFF state. I don't understand the per preset settings, PP#1, etc. "I can go to my per preset menu and assign something to it. Something that I like to do ah for this particular patch is I have the Drive block set on Channel A to be a BB Pre for my lead sound but I also like chucking like a Pie Fuzz in front of the rhythm sound just for like an absolutely filthy riff kinda sound, so let's do this: I'm gonna set this [clicks a menu] so that we can go let's make it 'effect', so I can assign it to Drive #1 and why I'm gonna do with this one is use a really really cool feature here. Rather than bypass it, I'm gonna have it as a channel select and there is a smart bypass mode…" What? I'm totally lost!
Really found this interesting Leon. I'm on the wait list for an FM3 which is going to be used alongside my long term AX8 rig. Now you've got me considering getting an FC6 to go with the FM3...............talk about first world problems
FC-12 bank size question how would i go about i want to have 3 banls go from 1 bank 2 bank 3 banks then it would go back to the 1sr bank again.i use preform 1.any help axe3
Leon, since you have had the FC6 for a while now, do you feel its good enough for the average gig or do you feel you had the fc12, or is the fc6 more than sufficient. I like the smaller foot print of the fc6. May buddy said the FC12 is quite large.
Leon, I just pulled the trigger. My axe fx 111 and FC-6 footswitch arrives Wednesday! Cliff if you read this, I bought your product because of Leon Todd!
If I get a FM3 would it make sense to get an FC12 or the FC6? I see a lot videos with an FM3 with the FC6 but no videos with the FM3 and FC12?Any wisdom would be appreciated 🤘
Hey guys, for those of you who would like an extra 2 or 4 switches, we’ve got you covered! www.ottercustomdesign.com/product-page/ocd-duo-for-fractal-audio-fc-6-fc-12-fm-3
Have you set it up with any external pedals? I see it has four inputs for pedals, which I like the idea of as I could still use a couple of my favorite pedals along with the axe, but have to clue how that would work or what it would sound like. Thanks 🤘🏻🎸
The pedal jacks here let you add switches to control the Axe-Fx internal functions, they're not switches to connect things like Overdrive pedals. The Axe-Fx has 4 sets of ins and outs so you can run your overdrives/wahs/whatever in those.
Really informative video on the FC controllers! Do you think the functionality of the FC controllers with the Axe Fx 3 rivals the RJM Mastermind GT series? The bigger button pages would be nice but the price point is basically twice as much as the FC 12
Ahh the other Aussie legend haha. Do you find the FC functionality with the Axe FX 3/Axe Edit allows you to play more guitar in the end? Also it’s so hard to tell in videos and pictures, are the display screens easy to see? That’s my biggest concern between the FC and GT Thanks for all you do man!
@@adamkendra7182 the display is really easy to see but because they're so bright they're hard to capture on camera. I'm loving being able to move my chair back a few metres and go "hands" free and just play - less tweaking and more noodling!
Pretty cool and Great tones also! I may have to view less? I called a friend "Mock" the other day. You are a fine influence in many ways! Thanks, Be Well Leon!
I must be getting old as fuck because my head hurt after watching this....I have my FC6 and my Axe III is being delivered tomorrow...looks like I can toss most of what I learned about the Axe II out of the window and start from scratch.....
So Leon, are you planning to use the FM3 live or the AXE III? And if you do use the FM3, do you foresee using the FC6 with it or will the base FM3 get you by? The functionality of this is kinda blowing my mind. I am an AX8 guy about to go to the FM3.
I'm thinking an FM3 would cover me for most of the local gigs I do, with the option to add the FC 6 if I want more switches for a particular gig. That way the III can stay in the studio or come out for bigger gigs. Love the modular idea.

The III and an FC is a wonderfully thought out system. I've never played guitar more.
Leon, as usual, this helped again a LOT! Thank you, Sir.
Glad to help!
This was a great tutorial on the FC. Very informative. Thanks!

Use an EQ , comp or boost first in line and engage "scene ignore" on it.

Great vid Leon! Where is that kitchen sink preset? :) This is also a nice intro into the per preset stuff I was asking about in the forum.
Thanks for the great setup tips and tricks, Leon. Hmm...Now where am I in that queue? ; )

I don't have hands on experience with the RJM stuff so it's hard to say - Brett Kingman might be a better guy to ask as he's got/had both.

Hey mate, newbie question. Can you assign different patches to each step/switch rather than it being "Scenes"?
Yes. Pretty much any function can be mapped to a footswitch.
@Leon Todd fantastic! Thanks for the quick response mate 🙏
Hey man, hope you can get back to me but I love the layouts for the fc6, but what are the footswitches on the fm3 doing?
Same deal as the FC6 albeit with 3 buttons. You can assign tap/hold to the switches, use layouts and put functions wherever you like
