Both of the actors having actual martial arts experience I think really allowed for the fight choreography go a step further than usual. Like less reliance on fast editing and close-up shots.

@@TheoVorster yea , respect to all the kids but especially those two. Compared to season 1 the choreography is way more compelx. And the points go on for longer.
There's always been a time limit. Daniel won the tournament in KKIII in sudden death overtime.
Adorkable is worried about the kids being able to kill each other because a reformed Chouzen has shown up, meanwhile they've been breaking arms and breaking laws already...make it make sense lol. Don't forget, the bet wasn't for the dojos to shut down, it was that Johnny and Daniel were done teaching...even if they combine into Miyagi-Fang, they can't teach, so they need a proxy leader and that can be Chouzen.

@Patrick Torres yeah you got that right, it's honestly pretty sad how her anti biased reactions towards anything Daniel says/does ruins the oppourtunity to actually have a good healthy debatable argument of being able to view and depict the choice for itself and not be blinded by just going with it because you like x character or against it because you don't like x character.

I really like the way the match went with Sam and Tory--both of them, essentially legitimately won. Every point Tory did score was fair, and Sam also got three fair points (just with one not counting). Without the cheat, Sam would have won, but _only_ because she got the third point first, not because Tory wasn't also capable of winning fairly. I feel bad for Tory because she fought fair, but now thinks that everything she got is tainted. I'm interested in how it's going to play out next season. Will Tory want to clean things up by saying what she saw, or will she start spiralling because she feels like even what she thought was hers is bad?
Daniel didn't enlist Chozen's help to teach kids to kill each other, he knows he can't take down Cobra Kai alone now with Terry Silver in the mix since he knows how ruthless he is. He needs extra help someone that can be a perfect match for both Silver and Kreese and Chozen is the perfect choice. Can't wake to see them team up in season 5.

Why would Daniel say strike first or no mercy? Those are Cobra Kai’s terms.. when he says “give him everything you got” that means use both your offensive and defensive techniques that’s you’ve learned. Striking first is not why he won but using both.

Happy for Hawk, my prediction from a couple years ago actually came true haha. Still sad his new mohawk only lasted one episode though, that one was my favourite. I wanted Tory to win, but obviously not like this, that must've sucked for both sides.

Yeah. While I admire that, a part of me wonders where all this help Amanda’s giving Tory, is for Sam? Her own daughter, who clearly also needs some professional help. It’s kinda weird how the writers wanna keep sending the message that Tory’s life is hard, we should feel sorry for her, and give her a free pass from her actions. Sam’s rich, so it doesn’t matter that Tory tried to maim her twice.
@@Kayoss13212 You don't understand that Amanda does this to help the two girls, she does it so that her daughter's rival doesn't bother her anymore and so that her daughter doesn't become obsessed all her life with this rivalry as happened with Johnny and Daniel, she does it too to help Tory because she knows that the world made her an angry girl and Amanda identifies a little with Tory and Amanda is the most reasonable of the adults, if she sees that there is a way to help she will do it that's why I'm glad you recommended a therapist to Tory.

Silver tormented a teenager in Karate Kid 3 and only lost the tournament but continued to live his life with his millions of dollars, Hawk invaded the house of the larussos and stole Miyagi's medal in season 2 and he didn't go to jail either, Chozen put a knife to Kumiko's neck and tried to kill Daniel and he didn't go to jail either, but since they are all men there it's when people do want to buy their sad stories and forgive them easily but since Tory is a girl people don't want to, In my opinion, Tory is one of the characters who pays the worst for his mistakes.

I think it wasn't much the loss itself that cost Johnny, but the fact that this loss made Kreese choke him afterwards and lost his father figure..

@@kingmakaii part of why Johnny’s life turned to shit was because his sensei reacted so badly to Johnny’s loss. Krease’s reaction and treatment of his students is inextricably linked to Johnny’s loss and downward spiral, it’s not an either-or thing.
I think Kreese breaking Johnny's 2nd place trophy and chocking him out is what did the damage to his life

Also when Amanda talked to Tory she wasn't saying to not hurt Sam but not fight dirty. Amanda knows there is a clean and dirty way to fight. If Tory wanted to fight dirty, she would have followed Silver's advice and elbowed her. Tory wanted to fight clean to prove to not only Amanda but to herself that she's changed.
A small thing I just noticed- Kyler is EXTREMELY loyal to Cobra Kai, and really does celebrate every victory they have. He's the first to go up to Tory on the mat and pick her up, the first to invite the CK kids to excursions like the movie, and always comes back for more even when beaten. He has SO MANY good qualities, buried under his asshole personality.
I don't think he'll get a redemption arc (at least not a good one) in s5 cause there's too much to fit in, BUT the potential certainly exists.
Chozen is the next level down from Mr Myagi. Love him

Hawk is the Zuko (ATLA) of Cora Kai was a nerd, then became an asshole, redeemed himself and chose the right way and it culminated in a great big victory
Basically the ref having been paid off tells us that if Tory and Sam’s match had been officiated fairly, Sam would have, in the sense that Sam would have scored 3 points before Tory could (since the implication is that one of Sam’s hits that didn’t earn her a point was actually fair and should have counted).
I wonder if Terry’s final lines is implying that Season 5 will bring Mike Barnes back? Since that’s the other other named character that has a connection to Cobra Kai and Silver.
If they do bring Mike Barnes back that leaves Hilary Swank’s Julie Pierce character (from The Next Karate Kid film) as like one of the only major characters remaining from the old movies not to reappear yet in Cobra Kai.
You can clearly see Tory stepped out of bounds after Sam hit her, so that should have been her second point and the double punch should have been her winning point.

Sam and Miguel have presumably not talked to each other for a week. I guess they wanted give each other a chance to cool off while prepping for the tournament. Still, that one week must have hurt them because they clearly wanted to reconcile. They did, but I wanted them to elaborate on what happened at junior prom and for Sam to admit that she crossed a line. At least it didn't end in a break or a pause, but I'm left to wonder if Miguel left a letter or voicemail for Sam explaining why he left how and when he did. At any rate, she quivered a bit when he confided in her about Johnny not being his father. She couldn't find the right words to respond to that on the spot, but at least she didn't dare to compare and/or question his judgement any further.
Johnny wasn't entirely wrong about why Miguel was so down, but he was also oblivious about what happened when he got home. To add to that, Miguel felt like he was being used a pawn at this point.
Johnny realized that Miguel could have been a better fighter if he received the benefit of both styles like Sam and Hawk did, but he realized it far too late. He knows he screwed up, but he doesn't know how bad just yet. His only upside right now is that he and Robby are finally reconciling.
Speaking of upsides, at least Tory is gradually pulling herself together. As for Hawk, he finally won fair and square and more importantly got a second chance with Moon.
@3:01 Also, I predicted this!!! I knew that Demetri was gonna compare Robby to Anakin, but I thought it's be at the first episode and definitely didn't Hawk would follow up on that.

The whole tournament is tainted. For example Johnny yells at the red for letting Tory score a point on Devon when Devon was out of bounds and Terry mocks Johnny. Unfortunately if it's discovered, I think Hawk will lose his trophy as well as that's generally how it goes.
100% agree. This is something most people haven´t understood yet. If they really tell the everyone about it Eli will loose his victory. You can´t just make a tournament with only the girls competition because the same ref was there and why should´n´t he made some bad calls in the male devision as well? Maybe Eli and Robby wouldn´t even be in the final? So the whole tournament is tainted.

@@The2Coolest2 I'm not quite sure if this is a rematch. The officials are not members of the committee. Then watch the kata performance in the individual dojos. We see small scenes from individual fights in the CobraKai dojo. Who should have published the truth about the last tournament? Tory? Then why should she still be in the dojo? Wouldn't Silver have kicked her out for the release?
Why should a dojo be preferred to hold a tournament there? Where are the viewers? Where are the trophies?
I believe much more that it is a committee that travels around the country and visits individual cities to see if one or more dojos are qualified enough for a (national) tournament. They're always taking notes.
Silver said to Kim after she left the privat jet: "I´m thinking a lot bigger than just the valley".
Then you can see that Eli's hair is a bit shorter during the kata presentation and that he already has a little Mohowk later in the fight against Kenny in the CobraKai Dojo. So it looks like a little time warp here.
@@The2Coolest2 Rematches don't make sense though, Robby won't be there (for Cobra Kai) and neither will Miguel (If it's happening alongside Mexico). I also highly doubt that they can get ALL the competetitors back. I don't think those are rematches, it's likely tryouts for a National Tournament.

It helps that the most epic fight in the show has the best martial artists in the show out of the kids (Jacob Bertrand and Tanner Buchanan)
Also Miguel wasn’t “unhealthy”. It’s just a pulled muscle. He could still fight and somewhat in good condition. Also I still think Hawk would have won wether or not Robby looked at Kenny. Same with Tory and Sam. I still think Tory would win that.

@@patricktorres1292 Also we literally know from the fact that the ref was paid off that Sam should have been awarded her third (and thus match winning) point before Tory made her third point.
