What an important topic to be widely discussed! As mentioned close to the end of the video, nurturing biodiversity can benefit the surrounding crop fields or pastures. Adding geese to these enclosed ponds certainly can be another source of fertility and a source of income as well. Thanks Tim for all the knowledge you share.
Fenced off from grazing animals... but what about geese, ducks, fish? Would it help planting additional filtering plants around the edges like rushes, willow, pecans? Would trees put the water into the air in the form of leaves or would it reduce evaporation by shading? Is it worth placing solar panels floating on the water surface to keep the panels cooler and protect them against fire. If the dams are off limits for grazing animals, what happens in a fire event? How do you have safe places for animals?
And stir up mud and deficate in the water reducing clean water availability. You can plant trees to reduce heat stress. It’s been well documented that anything between 17-30% tree cover has no negative impact on productivity.

Does that mean Fencing off dams all year round including hot summers, like humans, cows like to go for a swim 🤔

@@FarmLearningTim Any chance you could provide a link to more information on this.
