I know many vocabulary in chinese but still now I don't know how to make a sentences, please can you help me, and to write character it is difficult, and let me ask you one question pleasr can you give me your whatsapp numeber, please I want to ask you more information abut chinese
EXTREMELY HELPFUL! Thanks always! Some folks don't realize that we also have measure words in English! A cup of coffee. A glass of water. A bottle of beer. A deck of cards. A piece of paper. A flock of birds. Etc., etc., etc. I don't know why so many English speakers don't consider that. I am American (living in Taiwan for many years), so English is my first language.
I agree with you, English also have measure words, but they tend to add information, as in "a flock of birds" has a different meaning than "a bird". In Chinese the measure word is more a direct part of the noun itself and the noun should not be used without it. I love the explanations in this video, it makes it more easy to remember, but maybe an even deeper explanation of why we have measure words at all would be helpful as well? My theory is that many Chinese words sounds the same, just with different tones, but when adding different measure words it separates them more clearly.
Excellent! Yes, understanding that measure words are not random is so useful. But first finding them is difficult. Can you make another video with more of them?
Thank you :) I took Chinese for 4 years in high school years ago and now I'm trying to learn on my own. Videos like these have made learning so much easier for someone like me who had no exposure to Chinese or China until just a few years ago
When I started to learn Chinese I really don't understand the measure words, then I understand it a little bit more, but now it's more clearly thanks to your explanation :3 I really appreciate the knowledge you share with us, thank you so much for this lesson is so so helpful 👾✨ I can't wait for the second part :D
I always enjoy watching your video clips. You are a teacher who is not only beautiful but also smart. Look forward to watching video clips explaining synonym and antonym vocabularies. Thank you very much for your interesting lessons. Wish you have good health and all lucky things will come to you.
In the bus we hear the loudspeaker (not loude speaker) say: "Watch out for safety". Does this mean: "Be aware of pickpockets?" Or "Stay in your seat so you don't fall down". And I wonder if people in China are often warned like this in other places too. (I'm not native English) Thanks for this awesome lesson
thanks for writing, the thing that the loudspeaker says is mostly for the people who are out of the bus, like, be careful, the bus is coming, not for the passengers inside the bus ٩(^ᴗ^)۶
Excellent, thanks Ymin for this lesson. I love the way you explain this matter. It makes a lot of sense the way you explain the mesure words. Disfruto mucho tus clases. Muchas gracias !
Xie xie Yimin laoshi. This was a great review of some common measure words. I really liked the explanation of “luang” and it’s origins. Now I have a visual reminder of the 2 horses and carriage
Amazing....! While I'm watching and learning the Chinese language some of the words are similar with our Garo language. Also we also have the different measure words for different things😊😊
What is a measure word? In English there is no direct translation. In english there are "words" for measurement. Ex: kilogram, pound, meter, foot. How do you translate this?
I prefer the other one translation: quantifier. You can understand it as this: you will need to quantify a noun before you use a number to describe the amount. For example the quantifier for 树(tree) is “棵”. Only when you add 棵 after 两(two),can you describe the exact amount: 两棵树(two trees). Otherwise, the “two” won’t have a target, because there is no quantified noun.
