Bacchetta designed in Florida , built in Taiwan imported to the states, put together with American parts, ( some of which are made overseas and also imported ) and sold to the consumer who wants speed and comfort . Good review . long wheel base bents are the luxury vehicles for touring, commuting and riding pain free.
A Toureasy by Easy Racer is also an excellent choice. Only problem is that I am unsure of the status of the company. They may be in receivership. However, you can often find them on e-bay. I have had one since 1989 and it my favourite of the three recumbents that I have owned.
Thanks for this review. My problem is deciding to get this or a trike. I can only get one. Had a linear 18 years ago and loved it. No shoulders on the roads around this mountain neighborhood. And the roads are rough. I have grandiose dreams of cross country trips.
Decided yet? I have owned an ICE Trike Sprint (800 mi) and Greenspeed X-3 (5,000 mi) and Bacchetta Giro (200 mi). I purchased the ICE used and made money on it, although it was a great ride. After two falls I got rid of the Giro. I purchased the Greenspeed new and, after I purchased the Bella (new) the Greenspeed kept sitting in the garage so, due to the mileage, I sold it and have now put 3K on the Bella. Just picked up a very low mileage Hase Kettwiesel last week and am really enjoying it. The point is that having owned long and short recumbent bike and tadpole and delta trike, I don't have a clue which whether I like the Bella or Kettwiesel or ICE better. I am thoroughly convinced you need one of each but cannot go wrong with either.
Great review. Thanks. I have an old Vision R40, which I love ... my first recumbent ... but continue to look at others. I really like this Bacchetta and the Rans (well, now can't recall the model name) LWB.
I slid a camelback water bag between the mesh seat. Attached the drinking nozzle to a retractable lanyard. (key lanyard) It can hold a lot of water and you can drink and ride.
Keep Rans Stratus in mind also. I purchase a used on but frame was too short so sold it and bought the Bella. I would have a hard time choosing between the two were I do have to choose.
I'd really like to try the Rans Stratus XP. It was on my list while I was searching but the nearest one was an 8-hour drive away. Not knowing if I would want it or whether I could get it home, I ended up choosing a local SWB Vision R40. As time goes by, I'll keep my eyes open for a Stratus, though. They look awfully sweet.
thank for the review. I noticed you have a different type of handlebars. bacchetta normally has the tweeners, your set up brings the bar closer to you chest. how do you like it¿ I'm a giro rider..I would like to see you pedal on the bike..
I sold my aluminum Giro to get a Bella. For me it is almost perfect. It's even better than the EasyRacer Gold Rush Replica I had, though that's the best looking bike I've ever owned (all chrome w/composite wheels), The Giro frame is stiffer, but if you're worried about turning while pedaling, I do that on my long frame Bella w/no problem. I'm 5'9".

Thanks for your review! Always interesting to hear about an actual owner.

What did you get?

Haven't had a bella but had a rans rocket with the same seat and they are amazingly comfortable. Great review.

Why does this "Comfort based" bike not have suspension?
Does she miss it?
Thanks
Really great review, thanks for sharing.
Compared to the shorter wheelbase of the giro, any hill climbing differences? Speed on the flats differences? Thanks.
Are there any bike racks that work well with the Bella?
Thanks for your review. I am also considering to buy long wheel base recum and Bella looks beutiful :)

For me, the Stratus had too "flexy" of a frame. The Bella is stiffer.
Great review. Thanks for posting.
Does the handle bar lock down
I rode the Stratos but I bought the Bella, great value.
What sort of distances and speeds have you been able to manage on this bike?
Great bike

I've always said baketta. Isn't it an Italian word?
By far I would have took snoopy for the ride lol
Thank you for the review. Is it US made?
Not sure. French I think.

What's the difference in wind-resistance between Lucy and Charlie? :)
Dumb question.... Lucy has hair, Charlie doesn't.... Duhhhh
:)
You can’t ride a trikes on the highway you’ll get run over...bikes are safer.
