My first 3D print project. Completely designed from scratch in CATIA V5, sliced in Cura, printed on an Ultimaker 2+, then assembled. More to come soon! Enjoy. Gear ratio is 1:8.
Material like this is why I selectively watch UA-cam. That's a keeper! Never seen anything like that! Next one, film the printing process. Ace guitarist and engineer!!
Boi this is so well engineered that i genuinely think that you are an engineer, those plans are beautiful
Nice work, i like worked mechanical 3D things
! Everyday I wish I didn’t have to sell my CNC mill.
Do you have home movie film? If you do, make a film projector with this
Oh boy this geneva wheel is going to wear out so quickly... xD
But yeah, it looks and works great, good job. For entertainment purposes and demonstration it's a really cool model.
Also not seeing many people on UA-cam using CATIA. Not that I'm suprised by that. Yet still, interesting to see someone actually using it for modelling 3d prints.
That came out really well. Also, nice editing. What did the total print time come out to?
Matthew Cox thanks man. Total time was probably around 50 hours
You could make a really interesting zoetrope by putting drawings on the end with the numbers.
I thought about doing that somehow. That whole wheel has the slotted shaft so I could always print something that can slide on down the road. Definitely could take some kind of drawing of a horse running or something and use it as a sketch to extrude the surface or something like that.
Can we have this design
did you really do math to make the Geneva gear?
all i did was jump straight to CAD and it worked. I did more than make one. i made 4 sizes for a binary mechanism no binding issues.
