That second round your team had exactly the wrong tactics. Should have swarmed individual targets hard. You did an amazing job in a 2:1 or 3:1 tonnage game
@Ian Robertson Agreed, matchmaker throws its hands in the air with 4 man teams, its up to those teams to coordinate and "make weight" with better plays if they plan to drop in light. Ive been in matches like this where the 4 man light pack mops the floor with the heavier team.
@Ian Robertson maybe not 1v1 but in a team situation with both side coordinating the damage output vs armor is just ridiculous, as one side is just light on both.
@Ian Robertson If teams have pilots of equal skill, tonnage can be a factor. As good a light pilot as you may be, a large number of assaults with good players in them will still wreck a team with a disproportionate amount of lights.
Hi Baradul, based on the comments and what people are bumping into with the new MM, can you run a 4 man team and do a few games demonstrating good strategy and shot calling? Would also be a good mini series to have on channel around team play vs showing off builds. Just a thought

Nice build! Personally I'm a fan of the 6x med. Pulse Phoenix Hawk, but I see the benefits of this one. On a different note, have you ever tried a 2x RAC 2 Raven? Hard to use, but it is possible to deal serious damage and even get kills.

I get you, bro, had the same "issue" but then just installed it and found out that Solaris is just one of the game modes available within mwo. Prior to that I also had the idea that Solaris stands for a separate game...😉

Really? Im T2 and typically get pretty competitive matches as long as there are enough folks online. I will admit its forcing me to run meta mechs now though. If i run anything thats sub optimal or that I'm still skilling out the matches get pretty rough.
@Ian Robertson Of the ten games I've played recently, only one has had (almost) even team comps. Hell, the last match I played we had no Assaults and we went up against a lance and a half of them! I'm sorry, but the odds of a bunch of randoms beating out six assaults, three heavies, two mediums, and two lights with only one heavy, ten mediums, and a single light are exceeding low.
@@Daeon108 For some reason, I was rank 4-5, with roughly a 50-50 w/l ratio, but then I got bumped up to rank 3 and now I feel like I die before I can do jack shit. Teams are just too unbalanced and I guess I could run meta, oh wait, I don't have enough credits to do that because I keep going up again teams full of assault mechs! Further exacerbating the issue is how there is always that one guy with a mic telling me how much I suck because I didn't bring a Madcat MK.II, and how we lost because we didn't bring enough *insert x,y,z here*. It's maddening!
@@ryanmeyer5424 In whatever tonnage situation you are, you don't need expensive assault mechs or meta equipment to stand your ground. Everything what is mobile and has 4 decent missile hardpoints can wreck shit with SRM Splat. Just consider Blackjacks, Trebuchets, Wolverines.. if you go for MRM the circle gets even wider with Bushwackers etc. If you are more a clan player get a vapor eagle and mount the mini atlas loadout.
@@jensjensen7462 I've tried a splat-a-pult load out before and kept getting annihilated before I could get close enough to be effective. MRMs used to be a good thing before the change, but now I can barely do anything with them. I'm debating if I should attempt a lrm-boat next, but... I'm down to like 6 mill and I feel stuck. Clan mechs are too expensive and pimping another IS mech to be viable feels like a lot of investment only to get blown up a dozen time while getting cursed at.
